Huh? Science has been asking for DNA and any other samples all along.
If Sykes is working closely with footers then he may have become biased. This is not a good thing at all for footers.
You risk being permanently at the mercy of the choir, unable to break free into the real world. All of your testing and studies end up being done by believers, who only tell you what you want to hear.
What are you trying to say about Sykes?
If you take that position then you stand with a very small fraction of scientists, those that are all in the so called BF community, scientist's at a whole do not even take a notion that BF is anything but a folk law.
Translation into English: Anyone not 100% Denialist/Scofftic is automatically biased.
Only in Skepticland is true scientific open-mindedness an indicator of unreliability.
Argument from authority...about what I've come to expect from your RRS.
As for the recent furor over Tontar...he's all mouth and no pony to show for it, just like Kita and his claim to have "found the PGF suit". Which he can't squeeze Campfire BobH into no matter how he tries, nor can he change the fact that the old yarn-spinner couldn't keep his stories straight if his life depended on it.
Jodie and River posted at the same time as I...
I've always asked the question to myself, "Can they ALL be wrong?" <-- referring to all of the reports of Sasquatches.
"Tirademan's" accounts from old days always have intrigued me, frankly. No one lied back then, right?![]()

Very cool find...thanks for sharing.
Skeptics should swallow the fact that sasquatch exist, which is why finds like this occur. And always have.
Hoaxing is a highly boated red herring. Very few hoaxes have been proven.
The need to label every large, hairy, man-like ape report a hoax is a compulsion for some, and a complete waste of time.

The DNA is a bust, if there was something to it and the chunks of meat it would have come out by now, 4 + years and still waiting. Yawn !

No. Sykes is part of the 'Oxford-Lausanne Collateral Hominid Project', co-leading it with Michel Sartori of the Lausanne Museum of Zoology.Prof. Bryan Sykes is now officially a member of Bigfootology. He's working closely with Bigfooters to get the proper DNA samples for his study. Normally, someone of his stature wouldn't attempt something like this, but maybe something or possibly someone got his attention. One of the people he's working with has already received the DNA results from Dr. Ketchum and is confident it will be Brian Sykes who will make the discovery. Never has there been a study where scientists ask for DNA samples![]()
and"I'm challenging and inviting the cryptozoologists to come up with the evidence instead of complaining that science is rejecting what they have to say."
It'll be interesting to see how the believers respond."As an academic I have certain reservations about entering this field, but I think using genetic analysis is entirely objective; it can't be falsified." "So I don't have to put myself into the position of either believing or disbelieving these creatures."
ExactlyI think you may mistake optimism, for more of a calling out. Sykes is in a way calling out all of the cryptozoologists saying put up or shut up. I guess the results should put an end to the false claims about "we have evidence of bigfoot".
I hope Sykes's study will be somewhat definitive, either put a nail in potential bigfoot's coffin or at least show there is something out there, either result is fine with me. I've given up on Ketchum over a year ago.
What I am hearing about Sykes is that those that think they have definitive evidence based on Ketchum's results aren't necessarily having their samples accepted by Sykes.
