Gee, 'footers lying. Who would have thunk it?
We have someone running interference for Kathy Strain, and the tactic is to mis-direct attention away from exactly what she has said or done and into the realm of personal attacks and bickering. Let's not fall for that any more, and get to the juicy stuff.
Apparently, this Kathy Strain undertook the study of anthropology specifically to advance her prior bigfoot beliefs and is quite honest about that in the first podcast of the Bigfoot Information Project. One of the interesting "reveals" in that show is the discussion about how the early anthropologists studying the native group she considers herself an expert on did not publish anything about bigfoot beliefs. She claimed it was in field notes, not published anywhere, and the same is "true" with modern sightings by the natives. It is her special rapport that has brought this out of them whereas it has been kept secret from outsiders otherwise. They're too shy to discuss it.
In short, she's become the anthropologist who extracted a real bigfoot from native tribes where no anthropologist had done so before. And her "proof" is in alleged unpublished notes and unverifiable secret stories. It is her word only - the word of someone who specifically became an Anthropologist in order to do exactly what she is doing now.
It is no surprise then that she would participate in a "study" with a concealed location, and have zero verification of claims - for example photographs. Allegedly the TBRC has cameras as a focal point of their study in Area X with trail cams set up. So excuses about no cameras are laughable. You can't talk out of both sides of your mouth about this: asserting photos are what you're there to collect, but er, um - not having a camera.
What can we say about a "researchers" who conceal their research site? Shrike has been to exactly the same location (Area X) and you can bet your bottom dollar the location is extremely important. These birds migrate all the way to South America, and they know where the corresponding sites are there too. I see Bipto saying the TBRC doesn't have enough manpower to keep the site occupied full time. Gee, do you think that keeping it a secret comports very well with that whining? The point of secrecy is exactly that - to keep people out. I won't show you my secret 1850 field notes or give you the names of my interviewees or name the site I claim to have located a previously undiscovered live hominid upon.
We have a longstanding pattern then of this person claiming her "evidence" is in unpublished field notes, in personal unpublished interviews of anonymous persons, and now from a secret site overlooking the parking lot of a popular National Scenic Recreation Area.
She's written a book, organized conferences, and established a website she hopes to make into the biggest bigfoot research umbrella organization in the world. What I see here is a whole lotta profit and notoriety motivation goin' on. I think it well within the rules to point this out, not as attacks on the person but as facts before our eyes and upon which the claims being made ought be evaluated.
