Beatle Bush Bash!

i demand this thread to be moderated!
to much vile anti McCartney propaganda.
freedom of speech has its limits, you are far beyond.

Remember, Paul died in 1966. The REAL Paul would have praised George Bush and flipped Obama the bird!!!!

Also he needs to apologize for the lyrics to Live and Let Die.

"But if this ever-changing world in which we live in..."

Makes me wonder if he was the one who taught Alannis Morisette the meaning of "ironic".

"But if this ever-changing world in which we're livin'"

Looks a little different that way. :)

This is important.

You know what?

I can't be sure from listening, and the written lyrics here are certainly wrong.

Hmm.

It could be 'in which we're livin'--except it sounds clearly like 'we', in which case the lyrics would be 'in which we livin'.

ca. 25 seconds in.

Sometimes we must accept uncertainty.

Consider 'beer' - pronounced 'beeah' in an English accent - so we're is pronounced 'weeah' in an English accent - but sang very quickly could sound like 'we' to the unintiated.

I was always under the impression it was "but if this ever changin' world in which we're living..."

But he should still apologise for the Frog Chorus, Mull of Kintyre, Silly Love Songs, Simply Having a Wonderful Christmastime... continued page 94.

I had to come back to this thread to curse you. Mull of Kintyre? Mull of Kintyre??!!

I do not know the words. Well, other than "Mull of Kintyre" repeated over and over. I do not know what it is about. I never liked it.

And now I can't get it out of my head.

May you be stuck in an elevator for six hours with an endless loop of Donovan's "I Love My Shirt".

"Mull of Kintyre, oh mist rolling in from the sea
My desire is always to be here
Oh Mull of Kintyre

Far have I travelled and much have I seen
Dark distant mountains with valleys of green
Past painted desert the sunset's on fire
As he carries me home to the Mull of Kintyre

Mull of Kintyre, oh mist rolling in from the sea
My desire is always to be here
Oh Mull of Kintyre

Sweep through the heather like deer in the glen
Carry me back to the days I knew then
Nights when we sang like a heavenly choir
Of the life and the times of the Mull of Kintyre

Mull of Kintyre, oh mist rolling in from the sea
My desire is always to be here
Oh Mull of Kintyre

Smiles in the sunshine and tears in the rain
Still take me back where my mem'ries remain
Figuring ambers grow higher and high'r
As they carry me back to the Mull of Kintyre

Mull of Kintyre, oh mist rolling in from the sea
My desire is always to be here
Oh Mull of Kintyre

Mull of Kintyre"

McCartney

I'm goiing to become a deist just so I can wish for you to go to hell, Applecorped.:D

Just so long as no one posts videos of some of Linda's great tambourine work.

When I get stuck with a particularly nasty earworm I use Frank Zappa to evict it. Billy the Mountain is good, or something from Reuben and the Jets if you're in a mood for pop.

It may not get rid of the problem, but it does substitute with a more palatable one. I succeeded in overwhelming a truly vicious infection of Wayne Newton with Who are the Brain Police.

Pink Floyd works pretty well, too. But if your head is full of David Gilmour solos it can be really hard to concentrate on anything else.

Ha! Something similar. There are a couple of lines from early Stones songs that I can get hooked on real easily, so I just substituted those until the horrible drek went away and back to the bad place. (The lines were: just the tag from Heart of Stone - and the opening riff to Under Assistant West Coast Promo man.)

So McCartney thinks Obama is great. Big deal. He also thought this woman was great......at one time. Now a 100+million later, I wonder what he thinks.

Just another mistake.

I have a certain fondness for Mull of Kintyre, as it was a Christmas hit in my teens, and therefore the excuse for one or two slow dances. :)

Ebony and Ivory, on the other hand, there is no excuse for whatsoever. The bland leading the blind, or vice versa? Either way, Paul and Stevie should be very ashamed of themselves.
