BC at it again....

I'd assume he means "claim," but then doesn't every scientific claim (theory, law, etc.) omit god? I don't remember "goddidit" being in any of my notes from college...

He's saying that any scientific claim that omits god is fiction.

For instance: trying to explain 'thunder' without mentioning Zeus.

Thunder and lightning* are the farts of the Flying Spaghetti Monster!

*He lights them!

Ah but even if unintended it is a comic and a joke meaning it is a joke to think that science omitting a god is science fiction.

........which of course is the case

No, I think he meant acclaim. He's saying that any cheering for science that omits "And I'd like to thank God" is science fiction. Like when someone accepts their Academy Award and thanks God for the acting help.

~~ Paul

So it's sort of like saying:

"You scientists should be damn thankful my god let's you have science!"

Are you all sure that the author of BC is really religious? Is this based on the usual content of his comics, or has he admitted to such to public?

(I don't know much about this subject, and I used to read the comic when I was a kid. It's a bit nostalgiac for me, and this subject has aroused my curiosity)

I believe he came out as a born-again at some point, although I'm generally unfamilar with the guy other than through topics such as this.

...snip....

On Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter—and many days between—Hart's characters offer messages reflecting the cartoonist's own firm belief in the gospel message. "I find myself trying to put the gospel into practically every strip I create without being obvious about it," he says.

Well, there goes all my respect for him.

Thanks for the link.

This might help

B.C....Christianity...B.C...Christianity... :boggled:

I've never heard of this strip before, but it makes me feel a little better about the atrocity that is BC:

(Due to a strange forum rule, you'll have to copy and paste and add in the html and www part yourself. Sorry)

Science will never disprove God because no matter how strong the evidence for evolution, big bang, whatever, you can always just say God caused it to be that way.

Now if he's a young earth creationist, then he's a willful idiot.

Thanks. Only 2 posts to go, and then the spamming of links will begin.
