She is a real hero in the battle against quackery. Now she is being threatened with a "cease-and-desist" letter from Bastyr's legal representative (https://www.naturopathicdiaries.com/bastyr-university-sent-cease-desist-letter/) in what is going to be rather, ahem, "interesting".

If she, at some point, requires assistance, I hope my fellow forumites will be generous.

In any case, this is going to be something to follow with passion.

C&D's usually aren't worth the paper they may or may not be printed on. I understand she's in Germany, so an actual lawsuit may not be forthcoming.

That letter greatly exaggerates and misleads about what they can actually do and I would have thought would itself be open to a interpretation of a threat against her right to freedom of expression. For instance:

"...In addition, defamation is a criminal offence under the German Criminal Code and we will not hesitate to bring charges against you which can result in imprisonment of up to five years and the imposition of a..."​

They are a law firm, they have no power at all in Germany to "bring charges" that is a without foundation attempt at intimidation.

Britt Hermes is now facing legal action from "Dr" Colleen Huber.

"Arizona naturopath Colleen Huber is suing me in Germany for defamation over my opinions about her so-called natural cancer treatments and research. The lawsuit was filed in Kiel, Germany (where I live) on September 17th, 2017."

The legal fund has now reached $50,000, which hopefully will be enough, though with legal costs I guess you never know. It might suit some here to add a few bucks.
