This book debunks the alleged "holocaust" and was first published back in 1976. It is written by Arthur Butz. It is banned in Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Poland, Switzerland and other countries that have laws against free speech and open enquiry. Many of these same countries have troops in Afghanistan supposedly to bring "democracy" to that country. It's a pity they don't believe in it back home! I don't have any particular preference for documentary over written history, but I do require factual accuracy. I'm afraid that ill-informed racist drivel doesn't appeal to me in either medium.
 
I find it very sad that anyone can possibly be so ignorant as to believe this .

By the way, in other news, Mafeking has been relieved, the Americans have reached the Moon and someone crashed some airliners in the USA.

I wish the United States would ban idiocy to, but sadly, we just have to make the tin hatters feel "special".

Holocaust denial is normally a punchline in the history department of the university I used to attend. People just don't take you phony scholars seriously. Yet, you never seem to get it. It's like the slug girl in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Really sad.
 
There were no holocaust movies in the 1940's, 50's or 60's and then circa 1974 Did Six Million Really Die? (www.zundelsite.org/harwood/didsix00.html ) was published. Then in 1976 came The Hoax of the Twentieth Century. After these two works started to gain attention the "Holocaust" mini series was first broadcast in 1978. This opened the floodgates to an avalanche of holocaust propaganda so that not a week goes by without a movie, tv show or documentary about the subject. Total overkill. The victims of Stalin vastly outnumber those of Hitler but there is no comparable amount of film or tv time for them.

I was hoping it was going to be the book that finally reveals that the entire twentieth century is a hoax and that we'd really just gone straight from the 19th to the 21st. Linear time is obviously a lie.

That's interesting, no movies.....Are you aware there were books though, and pictures and some of those inspired people to want to never forget, and to want to kill nazis slowly - even some as young as 10 really wanted to when they found the details that were available by, say, 1956 (really earlier but they did not see it till then. You dream your dream. I'll stand by mine.

You and I probably are both in complete agreement with regard to the veracity of the book mentioned in the OP.

However, here in the United states, unlike those other nations mentioned in the OP, we believe that one has a right to believe what he will, and to express these beliefs, no matter how whacky others may think these beliefs to be.

This is what sets a free nation, such as the United States, apart from those wretched nations mentioned in the OP, that have no idea what freedom is really about.

You may think it is a good idea to ban such “idiocy” as that expressed in the book mentioned in the OP, but how will you feel when it is your beliefs that are deemed to be “idiocy”, and you are denied the right to express them?
 
I agree with Mondial on one point:

This book should not be banned.

This book should be sold to all people who want to read it to have a good example of misinformation, racism, historical inaccuracy and a good laugh.

That seems rather over the top. Just because a country doesn't have the same freedom of speech we do doesn't mean they don't enjoy freedom. We don't have absolute freedom of speech either, there are things that is "speech" that are illegal to distribute in this country too (like child pornography).
 
Oh I don't advocate banning it. Write what you like. But a little evidence may be requested.
Anyway, Stalin never executed anybody. Nobody died at all in Russia between 1927 and 1950. Soviet statistics bear this out. He was an enlightened, paternalistic man who did only the best for his people.
If it hadn't been for a few bad harvests and the Wehrmacht, everything in Soviet Russia would have been smiles and tractor factories.

Oops, but then, there never was any Wehrmacht vos zere? Another lie of the Jewish historical revisionists. Gods- why bother? Anyone who believes such codswallop is a nincompoop- the irony being that the people who believe IDF propaganda may be closely related.

Anybody peddling denislism of holocaust is not expressing an opinion, he is showing himself/herself for a stupid brain dead idiot.

Anyway even in the USA there isn't really free speech. No country of the world has a full blown all free speech. There are limitation, culturally (and for security reason). For example boobs and nipple in the USA, violence in Europe. You can show a kids being brain blown out, but a nipple rise the ire and FINE of the FCC.

Why should The Hoax of the Twentieth Century or any other holocaust revisionist book, dvd or website be banned in countries that call themselves "democracies"? Why should people be sent to prison for expressing a non violent opinion on a historical subject? I repeat - all the countries that imprison holocaust revisionists call themselves "democracies", they are not communist or military dictatorships. Whatever happened to intellectual freedom? Since when is it a crime to ask questions in a "democracy"?

Since when is freedom of speech a requirement of democracy (in any of its forms)?

But I guess you should be happy you don't live in a country with stricter speech laws, right?
 
I do not support the banning of these books or imprisoning people for this kind of stupidity.

But it is a despicable combination to cast yourself as the victim while maintaining that holocaust victims are not.
