The number one question I get, pretty much every single alpaca feeding, is whether or not they spit. I can't exactly lie to them and say no, but I also tell them they mostly spit at each other, and that they mostly do it when they feel frustrated or threatened.

Mostly. Once one of them spat me in the face for not giving him food fast enough .

Another will shove his whole head in the feed bucket to help himself every chance he gets.

Okay, I admit that a train of alpacas up in the mountains of Wyoming looks uncommonly right
and picturesque. Colorado too. New Mexico ditto, especially if the 'paca wrangler is a Ute and dresses
the part in bowler hat and serape.
