Odd she would use a laughably archaic term that in this day and age has a racial connotation.

Tony Snow. I'm not sure of the context, but it was used much more appropriately and he caught all sorts of crap for it.
I find it unfortunate that the use of the term has been cast as racist. It is derived from an old folk tale told in various forms over most of western Africa. It has the same connotations as "the engineer hoist on his own petard."
Of course, in this case, Babbling B has earned every snicker of disdain that comes her way. She has shown some measure of racial and cultural insensitivity to have so misused the term.
She slapped the tar baby and shall soon find herself waving it in a vain attempt to shake it loose. She should have known better. There are some serious gaps in her education.
Let me stop for another quick sip of schadenfreude. These republicons and teatards and assorted right-wing bigots do serve up a delicious vintage of that stuff.
So many of them, especially the NAR types, who see themselves as "cultural warriors."

A lot of our children's stories and fairy tales can be traced back to the Anansesen. I would hope that Americans of African descent would take more pride in their stories and join in laughing at the hopeless whacktard for screwing up the metaphor.
