Akhenaten
Heretic Pharaoh
I lived in Oakey and Toowoomba for about 20 years. My daughter is still living in the house we bought in Kearney's Springs in 1978.
There is a reason fishing is called "fishing" and not "catching"Sorry, I don't fish. My dad took us fishing a number of times when we were kids, but I never really "got" it. Seemed like a lot of work for little reward. Perhaps we just weren't very good at it.
There used to be a truck stop on the highway that we used to stop at. Ah, those were the days!I never travelled that way before the bypass was built but we have detoured through there occassionally. Just a little bit prettier than the Maccas.
Yeah - never got it. And although I'm so far from being a vegetarian it's not funny, I've always been squeamish about personally ending the life of other living creatures. I like eating fish, but I'll leave the catching, cleaning and gutting to someone else, thanks. There is a reason fishing is called "fishing" and not "catching"

Well I finally got to Australia for the first time last week, and I loved it. I can't wait to get back. I was in Sydney and Katoomba.
If you know where and when to go, catching something is very likely. There are many reefs around australia where you can drop a line and get a good feed of fish. Chasing the big ones requires a lot more patience but the adrenaline when you get a hook-up is worth it.
Even when they are not biting, what can be better than being out on the sea or a billabong with your mates and a well-stocked esky? Bloody hell, I’m making myself homesick!

Not close to the sea where you are in Turkey? I seem to remember fishing there was almost a sure thing.

But Turkey doesn't have this:
Australia's Kim Bain-Moore, the first woman to compete in the Bassmaster Classic pro fishing event in the US.

Anyone else is sick of the Asylum seeker Issue?
That might be a better topic for a new thread - a bit serious for the light hearted banter we have here.
I don't know much about Lismore, but Coffs is not a bad place. Not sure I would like it if I were young.Fine.
Does anyone know what Coffs Harbor or Lismore is like?
Fine.
