Atheists are a lawless lot.

Mandated in schools????????

What about the way in which T.Blair + other political cronies are trying to 'infiltrate' the education system with creationist 'academies'.

I myself was approached by one! I, at first, was honoured...HA! It turns out they are getting £20 Million donations, but state schools only £2 Mill.

And you wonder why I HATE religion, faithers and IT.......

Griff...time for a cool shower.;)

BUT luckily, a council in London have kicked one into touch!:)

You’re putting the cart before the horse- Blair isn’t trying to force creationism into eth state sector, and only 2 out of 53 academies are creationist. It is more a case that Blair was desperate fro sponsors and Pete Vardy stepped up, as opposed to Blair seeking out creationists.

As for the rest- reading here may be enlightening.

I am unsure why you feel that because private donors (religious or otherwise) contribute to an academy religion is a bad thing, and why these donations mean that non academies are disadvantaged.

If the only reason someone does not commit a crime is for fear of eternal punishment in the afterlife, then I for one am all too happy for that person to continue to believe thus.

Doesn't convince me of the existence of God, nor does it convince me that I should be out stealing and killing, but if it keeps him from killing or stealing from me, then by all means let's let him believe that.

An article in the "Mail on Sunday" about morality you say?

Now there's a novelty.

I wonder who told them about it.
Excuse my lapse in taste. I thought I'd live on the wild side for a change and boy was I left wanting. Even the recycle team needed bribing to take it away.

What bugs me more is they pay this idiot to write this rubbish. What's more the Government would probably believe it and there will be some new stupid law or rule forthcoming I can see it now.

I would like to see how may God fearing folk commit crimes. I suspect there will be a few. Then again, perhaps they were faking it as an atheist?:D

He’s also missing the point that eth UK is a Christian nation, not in the sense that Fundies in the USA argue that the USA is a Christian nation, in the actual sense that Christianity is eth state religion, Christians have special legal privilege, and state school children are forced to learn “Christian values” and to pray to the Christian God (unless their parents specifically opt them out).

Oh yes, those dear christian values...It's complained over here we're lacking them as well. No explanation to what they are, or what's so specially Christian about it. Generally it boils down to "be a nice person", but it can also be used as an anti-immigrant point.

Our neighbours are away for a few days. I've just fed their cat, brought in their post and watered their flowers. Being an atheist, perhaps I should have stolen their valuables instead?

This certainly explains the 0.4% of prison population being atheist.

Or atheists are smart enough to not get caught.

Interesting to see that the states with the highest divorce rate are all in the Bible Belt.
