Atheist Mega Churches ----- WTF?

In a vacant warehouse across the street from where I work, the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster meets. I talked to one member who said it was a "gay church" and that they felt unwelcome in the area by the company next door.

The church is a parody, but at the same time members take it seriously.

Is this the same America that has a church on every corner proclaiming Jesus, where the majority think it's their right to put Christian propaganda in schools and have preachers proselytize the children on school time, where many government bodies still pray to Jesus before every session and no politician can be elected without proclaiming his belief in Jesus?


Because if you're living in an America where those things don't happen I'd like to move there.

I live in an America where those things don't happen. The majority do not think that it's their right to put Christian propaganda in schools. I don't know where you live, but it ain't America. The vocal minority say these things, the uneducated vocal minority.

Most Americans I know like and respect the separation between Church and state. And what a member of a governing body does in his or her own spiritual time, has nothing to do with their ability to do their job. When it overlaps I get annoyed with them and think they should step down.
