I know who this [censored] is, but what was the original sentence? I know he once said something very stupid (even for his standards) along these lines. Was it during an interview with Dawkins?

I think he argued that if those pinhead atheists can explain all then how do they explain the tides? Huh!?

Tides go in...tides go out...tides go in...tides go out...

Ya can't explain it!

......

Sometime later he was answering his letters from adoring fans, and found that some pinhead atheist had written to him to explain that the tides could be explained by... the Moon!

Of course Reilly, being smarter than the pinhead atheists, pointed out that no one can explain where the Moon came from, which was like so obviously his point from the beginning...

So, pinhead atheists! Where does the Moon come from? Huh!? Can't explain it...

....

Sometime later, he received more correspondence explaining where the Moon came from...

Thanks, Angrysoba. I didn't know the whole story.

That makes sense...

The God of the Gaps combined with the Goalposts of the God.

"I’ll tell you why [religion is] not a scam, in my opinion. Tide goes in, tide goes out. Never a miscommunication. You can’t explain that. You can’t explain why the tide goes in."
- Bill O’Reilly during a debate with Dave Silverman, head of the American Atheist group.

God made the universe with gaps so he could hide in them so gaps prove god.

This isn't a meme but I have to share this.

My boyfriend and I were once at the home of a Muslim family. We babysit and tutor their kids. I love this family, by the way, despite their religion. We were all watching a football game on TV and my boyfriend took his shoes off so I could give him a foot rub while he was splayed on the couch with the kids.

My boyfriend was raised in a devoutly religious household- both parents were very into it- but became an atheist fairly early on. Our hostess picked up on his lack of piety, though he didn't use the "A" word to her and pestered him about his religious views while the game was at low points.

He at first gave flippant answers to her questions. Example: "What do you believe in?". "I believe in Harvey Dent!". I listened to their discussion and chimed in occasionally while rubbing his feet.

When she pressed him further and asked "Where do you think you come from?", he gave a serious answer and said "I came from a monkey. Yes, unlike you, I believe in evolution. So does Eeney, by the way."

When she pressed him further about religion, he said "Look, I don't know. Why presume to know? That's my stance: I don't know what happens after death. No one does. Why is that so hard for people to say or admit? While I'm here, I plan to make the most of it and enjoy life. That's the best thing to do."

Our Muslim hostess asked, with much consternation, "How can that be enough? How can you live your life like that, just running on that?". When he assured her he could, she asked, in a baffled and concerned tone "But sweetie, what about your soul?!"

He answer "Well, right now, Eeney is rubbing my sole."

:D

He added "And my sole is in heaven!"

Ah, might as well put this here so people can see it.

To the Invisible Pink Unicorn

O beauteous creature, mythical fae
A Rarity then but unheard of today
Impossibly real, yet wise fools will say
You frolic where ponies and pegasi play
A bright pastel world on a midsummer's day

Some say that you dwell right under our eyes
Pink yet invisible, wearing this guise
Standing transparent against the blue skies
You cannot be proven, let thinkers surmise
What your supposed existence implies

Your alicorn spire brings forth the dawn
The summoned sun's rays on a Grecian lawn
Though serving this role, the world just looks on
You cannot be seen, you're invisibly drawn
Like starshine, you're hidden, not truly gone

Faster and faster you gallop unbound
Past where the scarring of asphalt is found
Through forests where magical critters abound,
They salute your return with a chorus of sound
Knowing they're safe with Her Pinkness around

Higher and higher you soar past the peaks
Of crystalized rainbows, a sighting unique
To show your invisible slender physique
And make mortals wonder about the mystique
Of the unicorn which they so desperately seek

Swiftly through fields of flowers you prance
Flashing your mane in a delicate dance
That onlookers puts in a somnolent trance
Whenever they happen upon you by chance
In all of this faerie-filled wild expanse

Great mother to all of the unicorn race
Whom mortals are never to meet face to face
You carry yourself with an elegant grace
Like sparkling trails of comets you chase
Invisible hoofbeats streaking through space

O creature as real as the God of Descartes
Full of the splendor that nature imparts
A cosmic creator of heavenly arts
Trotting within every beat of the heart
Yet shunning the cities and well-traveled parts

To every lost soul, you're the truest of friends
As those who are feeling alone can pretend
Her Invisible Pinkness is there to extend
A blessing to answer the prayers they send
Although you have other matters to tend

Has there ever existed a creature so pure?
There must be a reason the legends endure
But since you're invisible, none can be sure
Capricious, you flit from the sight of the viewer
Forever a mystery, forever obscure.
