What he also doesn't realise is that if temperatures were hot enough to produce liquid steel/iron then every metal/alloy, plastic or other material with a melting point lower than that of 1535°C would also be present as a liquid.

An obvious point, but one that managed to escape my ageing brain for a very long time Ta.

It was also pointed out a while back that liquid steel at well over 1500°C will also wreak havoc with concrete, which would spall itself to death if not actually melt. Basically there was nothing down there capable of containing volumes of molten steel so large and so hot that they would be able to remain molten for weeks.

The 'molten steel' business is all a load of tosh of course, but all the more frustrating in that Truthers can't comprehend the very basic science that lies behind it.

Actually, we don't know what it is. We do know it wasn't iron.

fair question: how do you know this?

I "know" the same way Chodorov "knows" it was molten iron. My "random anonymous dude on the internet spewing stuff" cancels out his "random anonymous dude on the internet spewing stuff" thus leaving him at zero evidence that it was molten iron.

Chodorov can't tell the difference between burning steel & molten aluminum. He can't prove that "molten steel" was found at GZ, he can't prove that steel can melt at a low temperature from it's original melting point of 2,600*F.

And he's suspended!

Guess we'll have to wait for him to come back.
