Dear JREF and readers,
I would like to take the JREF paranormal challenge as I can telepathically transmit my thoughts to another person.
I have been involved in some tests at a University where during set times I was required to “activate” or cause some form of stress to another person who was connected to a GSR (Galvanic Skin Response) sensor – the GSR was then plotted on a graph shown below – GRS1 and GSR2.
In GSR1 on the first activation period I tried to mentally stress the “receiver” on the GSR who was in a sound proof room about 30 to 40 yards from the room I was in. In front of me was a PC monitor with the GSR plot and a portion on the bottom half of the screen which displayed a coloured bar and instruction such as “Activate”, “Rest” or “Calm” appear on it.
During the rest period nothing is done mentally by the person doing the transmitting. In the calm period, calming thoughts are transmitted and in the activate period thoughts that should cause stress in the receiver are transmitted.
During the test period all objects like mobile phones, wallets, pens etc are removed from the participant to prevent any other form of communication taking place.
The activate instruction is shown in the picture below:-
The GSR plot is superimposed over a set of bars, the long bar indicates the 30 second “Activate” period in which the stress in the receiver should occur, the bars which are half the height of the activate bars are the 30 second periods in which deliberate calming of the receiver should take place and the spaces in between are the rest period where the transmitter should try and rest and not mentally calm or stress the receiver.
With the first receiver I tried to mentally activate him in the first activation period but nothing happened. When the second activation period started I waited and then thought about something private I knew about him and a small blip occurred almost immediately on the GSR plot in the middle of the activation period. I tried again on the other activation periods but was not very successful
An expanded view of the GSR increase in the activate period is shown below.
After the experiment was concluded I went home and thought about what had caused the increase in GSR in the activate period and also what the receiver had not responded to.
I approached another person and asked him if he would like to participate in the test. He agreed so I also asked his girlfriend to write some notes about him which she thought may cause him embarrassment or a small amount of stress which would be enough to show up on the test if I could transmit my thoughts to him. His girlfriend wrote some notes down and gave them to me just before the test. I did not read them as it may reduce the shock value to the receiver if he has an idea of what the notes contain, his girlfriend did not tell him either.
During the test I tried to activate the receiver in the first, second and third activation period but did not get any response. On the fourth activation period I read one of the notes which was longer than I thought and I found it hard to read the writing so it took longer than the 30 seconds to read to the embarrassing punch line. At the punch line the receivers GSR suddenly increased and then started to decay. At the start of the next activation period I read the next note which was much shorter and took about 10 seconds to read. On the note punch line the GSR immediately increased again as per the first note but was right in the middle of the activate period. On the next activation period I tried something else but nothing happened. The activation period after that I read another note which again took just over 30 seconds to read and again the GSR increased on the punch line point at the end of the note. Other attempts after that had no effect on the receiver.
The graph that was plotted during the test is shown below:-
A close up of the activation periods in which a response was seen is shown below:-
The University originally offered me unlimited tests but as soon as they got the results from my second test which backed up the results from my first session (which they had originally dismissed as coincidence) and I was getting better at finding ways to mentally stress the receiver during the activate periods (I also had to shorten the note reading time for it to land in the middle of the activate period) then they changed their minds and have since refused to test me further stating that they are not willing to test me to prove that I am indeed telepathic as it does not suit their experiment goals and that they would neither concur that I am telepathic for legal reasons.
I have done further experiments with friends and on my own in supermarkets and around town deliberately thinking at passers by and I can definitely detect that my thoughts have an effect on them when I think to them or look at them deliberately when they are not looking at me or facing the other way, even at large distances. I have been doing this for years as personal proof to myself that I am not deluding myself even before I approached the University for tests and have been aware of my ability for nearly 15 years.
I believe that one of the best ways to prove that I can transmit my thoughts would be a polygraph. In a polygraph test I would be a single word to repeatedly think from a selection of say 10 words. The other person on the polygraph would then be asked about each word in succession to see if they respond in any way to being questioned about the word I have been given. I had been given the word Thursday and the person on the polygraph was then asked if they were aware if I had thought “Monday”, “Tuesday” etc then on being questioned about the word Thursday there should be a detectable response on the polygraph if my thoughts have got through but not on the other days of the week.
I am willing to offer 10% of the James Randi one million dollar prize to anyone who has the equipment or know how to assist me in proving my ability to a level which is beyond coincidence and can be claimed to be a scientific test which will stand up to scrutiny by Mr Randi or his peers or others who may wish to inspect the protocol under which the test was done.
I look forward to your replies.
Your Sincerely
David
