Tomorrow Arnold is calling into the Howard Stern Show (which should be a very good interview...unless Arnie bails). What are the equal time rules like in Cali? Arny can command any media he chooses, I dont see the others calling into a nation wide talk show so easily.

I dont understand this equal time concept, surely arnolds movies which where made before he ran for governor have no political bias, so why should they be forced of the air?

Arnys Stern appearence was canceled today due to equal time nonsence. I dont get it, sumthing to due wh Stern not being a news show so he woudl have to offer equal time to the others????

I think that equal time for airing Arnold's movies are a stretch of the FCC regulations. Worst case scenario: The stations could be forced to offer air time to opposing candidates equal to the time given for the movie, without commercials. The opposing candidate would have to pay for that air time. It is only if a candidate appears in a news broadcast, such as an interview by a news reporter, that the station is required to give equal air time in a news broadcast for free to opposing candidates.

First off, I agree with some of Arnolds political ideas, however...

"surely arnolds movies which where made before he ran for governor have no political bias,"

Arnold is only a serious candidate because he is a celebrity, most recently from his movies. Since that is his main "qualification" and primary reason (my belief) for his political popularity, it's safe to say the more Arnold movies on TV, the more votes he will get and Yes, I'm that cynical.

The amount of support he is receiving, especially, from places like this board is, well, mind boggling. I'm amazed that those that rail every time a Baldwin or Dixie Chick or other celebrity says something have been conspicuously silent (other than a comment or two on Buffet). Of course that has nothing to do with political bias ;)

Not cynical. Very true. If he wasn't a movie star he'd be Arnold Who?

He'd be Arnold the real-estate millionaire and body builder, just like he was before his movie career.
