Are scavengers edible?

Long story short (to get back on the OT): if by edible, you mean "can I eat this?", the answer is "depends".

If by edible, you mean "should I eat this?", then the answer is no. You really shouldn't eat predators (at least land predators and the really large predatory fish).

Preference & compulsion are two different angle. We need to check considering these two angle. However, naturally, things may be happening for the sole purpose of to maintain the nature balance.

How various Biological species can exist unless there is some harmony or balance among them?

The eventual collapse of one or both of them. Take the problem of invasive species. They conflict with native species until either they achieve an equilibrium (a balance) or one drives out/destroys the other.
