Are most homosexuals atheists?

Seems to me it would be kind of counter productive to be Christian and be a homosexual, seeing as how the Bible calls for their death. Some religions are more accepting, such as Episcopalians. Do you guys think that most homosexuals are atheists? I don't think I have met a gay who was Christian. Then again, I have not met very many gays.

From personal experience ( a bi guy.) i would say not enough.

It destroys me that one will do all kinds of mental gymnastics in order to remain with a security blanket, especially when one actually has the stones ( no pun intended) to tell the world " You know that word you call your buddies when they do something unmanly? Well i am one of those."

This is about the church knowingly and openly contradicting what the Bible says, not twisting and interpreting what it says in a way no sane human ever would.

As mentioned by others, the Catholic traditions predate the Bible. They are based on the teachings of the church, for the most part Paul. Those teachings were memorialized in lots of writings, a selection of which were chosen to be the Bible. But, the Bible is not the authority, it is an attempt to capture the teachings of the time some 300 years after the formation of the Proto-Orthodox church. The writings have obvious flaws, many of which were well known to early church leaders. They are contradictory and present different Christologies. Many of the writings attributed to Paul are obviously not of the same hand as others attributed to Paul. The list goes on. But, they were what they had. You have to remember that Christ taught the end would come soon and Paul followed that teaching. It is not like they were thinking of the church lasting more than 50 years, much less 2000.

Thus the OC and RCC refer to the traditions as more important than the writings they were able to gather to support those traditions.

The thought that the Bible is the inerrant word of God is recent, as others have mentioned. And frankly it is absurd. A straight reading of Genesis is enough for a teenager of average intelligence to know that the book is not literally true as presented in English.
