Apollo 11 Moon Landing Revisited: Hoax ~vs~ Debunk

What the actual ◊◊◊◊ have "abstract" discussions to do with actual, real, verified, documented events, whose existence depend upon very real and well understood principles of science and engineering?

When I as a lad in a university pure science faculty anyone saying "abstract" would have been pointed to the nearest art gallery (only around 300m in this instance). Abstraction is as irrelevant here as debate.

"I'll use a big word and hope no one knows about it."
I don't think that's true. The big topic back in the day was the nuclear arms race with people genuinely concerned about the threat of a nuclear war. So no, you don't need to be an expert to debate an issue; presumably people would turn up at your CND/Greenham Common/Anti-Cruise missiles debates, heckling, shouting potty-mouthed epithets or just coming along to say they have no interest in the topic. How weird is that? Turning up in this thread to let people know you are not interested in it, or demanding 'Make it stop!'

Surely it's possible to find a thread that does interest you.

What in the Wide Wide World of Sports does this gibberish have to do with @Carrot Flower King's question about "abstract" discussions having nothing to do with actual, real, verified, documented events?

I am very, very familiar with CND, anti-nuke etc demos, having been filmed and photographed by the police on quite a number.

Passing comment on "abstract" ideas being irrelevant here is because the whole thing is incredibly concrete is not the thread not being of interest, more highlighting how ridiculous some of it is.

The comments from any number of other posters who actually know what they are talking about in a very concrete way is of great interest; made up nonsense and repeated misuse of terms like "debate", less so.

And, of course, you will be showing exactly where I said anything about "Make it stop!"

Now, try harder...

Cool story bro.

It still is.

You can comfort yourself with that idea if you like, but it really isn't the case.

The people attending the same CND demos I went to were very well informed. You can't argue for or against a position successfully if you have no interest in it.

What people want to stop is you avoiding answering questions, like "how did they include details in mission media that were not known about before the missions?".
Surely it's possible to find a thread that does interest you.
Surely it's possible for you to stay in the thread you started and answer the points put to you?

Any chance of you telling us what point you thought was being made about “geopositioned” satellites, in your own words?

So no, you don't need to be an expert to debate an issue...
You keep saying this.

As with many topics you've tried to cover, you don't know anything of worth about the Apollo record, space science, or science in general. Neither do the authors you quote. You don't know the details—nor do they. You don't know anything correct in the abstract, such as how engineering companies are run—nor do they.

Your attempt to debate the authenticity of Apollo—whether from your own scant knowledge or from the misrepresentations of grifters—is fraught with such ignorance as to make the endeavor entirely pointless. If you cannot demonstrate a working understanding of a topic, any attempt to reason through it is pointless. You need to know what you're talking about in a debate in order to be taken seriously, which apparently you don't want to do.

...demanding 'Make it stop!'
There is plenty of interest in the topic of the thread. What people are begging you to stop is your bad behavior which constantly distracts from a discussion of it. On the subject of, say, "non-geopositioned satellites" people are asking you to actually state something complete and coherent. You will not. All you can do is chastise your critics for their supposed ignorance of the subject. On the subject of whether Aldrin's space suit worked, you were similarly asked for a dispositive answer which you refuse to give. And every time you refuse to make your position plain, you rebuke your critics for missing your point or putting words in your mouth when they try to divine what you mean.

That is bad behavior.

So either learn the topic so that you can debate it intelligently, and comport your behavior to the expectations of good faith, or get out of the way so that the grown-ups can continue the discussion without your interference.

Apparently, all one needs is a willingness to type about it; however, knowing at least somewhat whereof you speak does much to avoid sounding like an ignorant fool when you do so. Therein lies the difference between having a serious, intelligent, relevant debate about a topic and just posting a bunch of stuff.

This is another standard MO of Vixen's. When properly accused of conspiracy-mongering, she claims that she's merely "interested" in the topic, and falsely accuses her accusers of a) not being interested in the topic themselves, and b) having a problem with her being interested in it.

Just to add: I believe the only thing in this thread I have suggested should be stopped is the repeated misuse of the term "debate", even supplying a link to a discussion of what the term means, which demonstrates what I have said about this not being a debate.

No-one has turned up to let people know they’re not interested and no-one has demanded you stop taking part in the discussion. Edit: Also, despite your continual whinging in this and other threads, no one is insisting you need to be an expert or engineer to take part in the discussion (I’m neither).

You sure whinge a lot over things that aren’t happening.

The ability to admit one is not an expert goes a long way, too. Nobody cares if one doesn't have expertise, as long as they admit when they are outclassed. I've yet to see @Vixen admit defeat, even in the face of facts given by actual, documented experts like @JayUtah.
