AP News: "Let's go, Brandon" is really code for "**** Joe Biden"

Yet he didn't think ahead enough to just, I don't know, not write it on a public menu? In an elementary school?

McGregor told the newspaper that he doesn’t believe that he should have been fired and that the menu calendar was in his office, in view of very few people.

Come on, bro.

Like, "Let's Go Brandon" is going to really upset some elementary students. With all the harsh language, you know.

"Look, we can handle you not coming into work when you're scheduled to be here, but we can't have this slogan being written down!"

So, why even make the slogan an issue?

The best part is, this stuff winds up in the news. Because, you know, nobody is triggered about it.

Come on, bro.

LoL oh, is that what the guy that got fired said to the newspaper? Come on, bro. If no one saw then how did the principal find out?

Caledonia Central Supervisory Union Superintendent Mark Tucker said McGregor’s menu board was visible to members of the public, including elementary students.

“People saw it and went to the principal, and he went and took photographs of it,” Tucker said.

It kind of seems like your newest hero is completely and entirely full of **** if you ask me.

Kids ask questions. They're inquisitive and it was written in an environment designed to educate.

I get it, you're...what's the term...oh yeah, triggered that this guy was fired because he did something stupid. I would pick a new hero though because this guy seems like a bit of a dummy.

I don't know why you're trigged about it. There were multiple reasons for him being fired, the school consulted their legal advisors, and put it in the record. You're the only one here that bothered to bring it up. You're the one that seems pained by it. The only person triggered here is you. All I see is someone who deserved to be canned, get canned.

He does seem like an idiot. But, it also seems entirely ridiculous that something like this ends up in the news as a basis for firing him. And clearly, those words mean zero if you aren't triggered by them. And that is the domain of libs, obviously.

But yeah, if an elementary student asks me what they mean, I am going to say, "Well Timmy, they mean **** Joe Biden! Tell it to your mom!".

The first 2 rules of the workplace are to show up on time for your shift, and don't discuss politics\religion.

Or sex. Professionalism is keeping stuff that doesn't belong at work, away from work. I've been with my current company for nine years now, and nobody there has any idea who I vote for, what I worship, or who I sleep with. That's not work stuff. Even if you do happen to say a prayer or bang somebody at work, you keep it quiet.

Dude, I didn't write the article...I am just pointing out the stupidity of the whole scenario. Like I say, yeah, no libs are butthurt over this stuff. They just try to get people fired over it. LMAO.

I only see one person here who seems to be obsessed with the whole "triggering" thing and does his utmost best to trigger the 'libz' with his posts. It reminds me of an 8 year old repeatedly poking his sister with his finger in the backseat of the car and getting a kick out of it. So childish.

Ah, so now all we need is some form of evidence that the person who fired him, reported him, or made him not show up to work was a liberal!

Go ahead, I'll wait. If not, then just admit you're making **** up and you picked a terrible example. He wasn't fired for the slogan, the slogan was just part of what got him fired. There's a difference, bro.

You're right. The person who reported the menu calendar was probably a die-hard conservative. Give me a break, already.

Talk about a stretch. You are completely overlooking the fact that people are butthurt over the slogan, make it a big deal, and feel it is newsworthy.

But, hey, no libs are upset about it. That's for sure. Brilliant.

Something something glass houses. But if nobody's getting triggered then I guess there's no problem. Now I'm sorry I apologized. Carry on!

I'm fine with firing people for putting political slogans up at work. It's unprofessional. Even if the political slogans agree with my own politics-- if he'd written something praising Elizabeth Warren or condemning Russia's invasion of the Ukraine it would be equally inappropriate and merit firing. The effect of introducing politics into the workplace is to piss off at least some of your coworkers, and make the whole place less productive as a result. People should do work at work, and be political on their own time. (Unless their work is in politics, in which case they're going to be miserable all the time anyway.)

Nothing in your article, or any other article I can find, shows politics even coming into it. Hell, your own quote said it was because of the brashness of the phrase, that it was in an elementary school, THAT HE SKIPPED WORK FOR 3 DAYS WITH NO REASON, and that it was in plain sight. Nothing about it being anti-Biden, or anything. You added that all on your own.

Talk about a stretch. You are completely overlooking the fact that people are butthurt over the slogan, make it a big deal, and feel it is newsworthy.

We don't even know how the news got a hold of this story. For all we know the ******* tool that got fired was the one that called and told them about it. He could have triggered this entire sequence of events. You know nothing about how this all went down and are continuously making up random **** about how it could be, or how you think it is, or trying to blame it on libs. That's it. You. It's all on you.

But, hey, no libs are upset about it. That's for sure. Brilliant.

Why would I be upset about it? He got canned, and the phrase doesn't bother me at all. I work in an ultra right-wing office. This doesn't even touch the surface of the **** that's said around here. In fact, I have to hide my political views from everyone here because I'd be fired for them. Unlike this guy, I've been able to do that because I have self control. It's crazy.

Apparently this douche was just so triggered he had to let everyone know, and it cost him his job.

I have zero arguments with any of this and 100% agree with it all.

You think that is bad, we have people at work who wear shirts with their favorite sports teams and put such propaganda in their cubes! Fire them, I say! It's too damn distracting and promotes controversy!

Next time I see a Cowboys banner, I am going straight to HR.

If you put up a banner in response that said, "Truck poo, plowtoys", then took off for 3 out of the next 5 days, what do you think HR would say? Hypothetically of course.

Is that sex, politics, or religion? Because I'm pretty sure those are the three topics I mentioned as being unprofessional. Sports, while boring, isn't automatically unprofessional. (Unless you work for a sports team and are promoting their rivals, I suppose.) You can hang up a calendar featuring pet rabbits but not one featuring Playboy Bunnies (is that even still a thing?). You can say "Go Crimson Tide!" but not "Go Shining Path!" You can wear a college-branded sweatshirt (depending on dress code) but not a college-branded strap-on dildo (again depending on dress code).

Is this interpretation of professionalism truly alien to you? If so then perhaps you really should visit HR, I'm sure they have some documentation you could read.

Just don't let any kids see it. Too profane.

Well, at my job, and this is a huge global corp, there is no problem with wearing any kind of Pride or BLM shirts, or whatever. But, you can't wear a shirt that says, "All Lives Matter".
