AP News: "Let's go, Brandon" is really code for "**** Joe Biden"

So what you're claiming is that Stavast deliberately lied about what the crowd was chanting even though anyone watching the interview would have known immediately that she was lying because "clearly what was being chanted was not 'difficult to make out' "? It's not because she misheard it. Have I got that right?

Why can't you accept the idea that this is a possibility? I don't even consider it a big deal, tbh.

Just like the song "She's got a Chicken to Ride" Easy to make out that the song is all about chocobo.

Haha, FFS, she's a sports reporter, probably just trying to clean things up for TV. Definitely not some vast media conspiracy

Yeah...

They do the same thing with bull***t chants or any other profane crowd chant "******* LA" or whatever. It is sort of a standard joke given the contrast between the squeaky clean image the network is supposed to present and what those events are like. Sometimes you can't avoid having the chant go on the air and a commentator will say things like that.

Vehicular meme-slaughter.

No, it's not being 'far too generous' and your post above, ironically, is a classic example of spinning a narrative.
I might have to take a dramamine if it got spun any more. You're attempting to minimize the professionalism and integrity of The NYTimes

Yes, exactly that. I am attempting to minimize the integrity fo the NYTimes.

... winner of 132 Pulitzer Awards and countless others and that of the NPR which won a Pulitzer this year.

Arthur Andersen was a highly respected accounting firm...until it wasn't.

The only Pulitzer Fox News ever won was for, as Andy Borowitz said tongue in cheek, fiction. All the major news broadcasters have been attacked as "fake news" by Trump because they report the news and not Trump lies.

No need to bring FOX News and trump into every thread. They're not relevant here. Neither is Breitbart, the Gateway Pundit, Qanon, or Donald Trump. You need to start putting together ideas and chains of thought not just trotting out names.

Besides, most people know if someone watched only FOX News, they'd have a pretty skewed view of reality. That's what FOX news does. You only don't realize the NYTimes and NPR do it because you're not looking at them with any skepticism. You're the poker player that's looking around the table and not seeing the patsy.

1. Nonsense.
2. Nobody buys your "both sides" trolling.
3. Nonsense.
4. We wouldn't have to bring Fox News and Trump into everything if the trolls could think for themselves and weren't just getting their trolling instructions from them. It's not like all the trolls on this board came all independently came up with "Go Brandon" on their owns.

Thank you, JoeMorgue. Now I won't have to waste any more of my time responding to his nonsense again.

I would re-paste exactly what I wrote, but that wouldn't improve your ability to parse clear English. She knew exactly what the crowd was chanting, and then in what can only be described as an act of utter audaciousness decided to gaslight her viewers anyway by making up something on-the-spot that was completely inconsistent with reality - in other words, she did what is par for the course with most mainstream media broadcasters. The "mostly peaceful protests" caption over a burning city also comes to mind.

Because it's stupid for the very reason I gave. Why can't you accept the idea that misunderstanding what they were chanting is far more logical? Never mind. I know: Bad liberal reporter lying.

There's a bathroom on the right! Bad Moon Rising.
-There's a bad moon on the rise

Hold me closer Tony Danza
-Hold me closer tiny dancer

Give me the Beach Boys and free my soul
- Correct: Give me the beat boys and free my soul

Kicking your cat all over the place
- Correct: Kicking your can all over the place

Then I saw her face, now I’m gonna leave her
- Correct: Then I saw her face, now I’m a believer

Even NBC news is saying “media outlets leapt at the chance to clutch their pearls”.

It is telling that this is scored as a win with no context about whether media concern over such puerile conduct is justified.

I mean, I think people who do this are idiots and I pretty much lose any respect for someone who uses this phrase in that way. If that counts as "outrage," then I guess I'm outraged.

People who have a problem with this aren't gnashing their teeth in righteous idealism as much as getting the same feeling I get when my toddler decides to try to fill the cab of a toy truck by spitting apple juice into it.

The significance is this--the flawed and self-serving nature of some media is being highlighted to give undeserved credibility to even worse publications and broadcasts.

"Look, they spun that story a little too aggressively. Turn those idiots off and watch these outright lies instead."

It was a sports broadcast. It's a cliche for them to pretend to mishear these sorts of things or misread lips when it can't be otherwise avoided.

Finding something nefarious in pretending not to hear an obscene word when standard network practices are to avoid broadcasting that word is just beyond silly.

Of course, maybe this claim is stupid on purpose so that when I point out it is stupid I'm just being triggered so that makes this stupid claim clever. It is a stroke of luck that conservatives have made being tediously stupid out to be the height of wit because it plays to their strengths...

This. I'm not outraged at all. It just reaffirms my belief that these people are none too bright and on the immature side.

I'm so triggered that a bunch of supposed adults are so butt-hurt about their idiot king losing the election over a year ago that they feel the need to chant lame ass phrases at sporting events to try and trigger my leftist comrades.

In a game I was playing, someone posted a "Let's go..." and I typed back the Jon Stewart name for Trump "Clownface Von Fstick". They weren't happy.
