Yanzhong salt soda water

Does anyone know if it is sold in Japan? It's made in Shanghai. We found an empty but unopened bottle on the beach in WA state. We are expecting debris from the tsunami to start washing up onshore in about a year but a couple of large floats have already arrived on the coast here and on Vancouver Island, Canada. The floats were large and probably pushed by the wind as well as the currents.

I know it's more likely this was trashed dumped at sea, but I was still curious.

Thanks.

If you mean floats such as used on commercial fishing nets, those have been washing up on our beaches for decades. I remember many a trip to Long Beach as a child, and marvelling at the collections of glass floats that nearly every tourism-related business worked into their decor.

This sounds more likely. One bottle in a case somehow missed being filled, perhaps. Toss it over board.

It's not like the Chinese are that fastidious about the environment.

I only know what the news media is reporting:

First debris from Japanese earthquake/tsunami reaches Olympic Peninsula

When I looked into it I found the bulk of the debris isn't expected until next year. We hiked on the Dungeness Spit on Xmas day and that's when I found the bottle. I don't think it's from Japan but nonetheless, it wasn't soda I've ever seen sold here.

No, I've never seen it here in Japan.

As others have said I would guess the origin is a Chinese ship.

In fact, everytime we see something bad in Japan it tends to be blamed on the Chinese. :D
