the BMA conference, being held at the Brighton Centre, will be voting on various motions to call to remove homoeopathy from the NHS and the training of doctors, and to call for homoeopathic remedies on sale in pharmacies to be placed on a shelf labelled "placebos". Apparently there is to be a protest outside the conference at 9am tomorrow morning.

I presume that an homeopathic protest consists of no one turning up?

Well, not turning up at the XXCCMMMM levels...

But if things get physical, they may get shaken up a bit, giving them great power...

According to the BBC there were "dozens of supporters" of homoeopathy outside.

The protest seems to have been almost entirely ineffective:
The NHS should stop funding homeopathy and it should no longer be marketed as a medicine in pharmacies, doctors say.

Sounds as if progress is being made. A pity it is not much faster.
I have just finished 'Thirteen things that don't make sense' by Michael Brookes, and the last chapter was about the placebo effect and homeopathy. However, I ended up with the impression that there were pros as well as cons, but I haven't read (i.e. listened to) it again.
 
I have just discovered that the basic principles of homeopathy are correct but the wrong medium is being used
the other day I was feeling way too hot because of the heatwave we are having at the moment, so I decided to consume a medicinal quantity of ice, within half an hour I was no longer feeling hot, the new method I have discovered has the advantage of causing a dizziness so you know there has been an effect, i'm not deluding myself into it at all

So far this seems to work well when the medium used for dilution was 1 ice cube to 2 pints of vodka, tonight I may try Jack Daniels.

Does anyone have the address of the "Lancet"

A Sign I saw outside a Holland an Barret store ( sort of health in bottles stores) the other day. " Don't let them take your homeopathic medicIne away" I think they had a petition going as well. The sign and petition are not working.

That's scare-mongering. Nobody is trying to take anyone's homoeopathic medication away. What they are trying to do is to stop the NHS paying for it, and so force patients and homoeopathic doctors to "go private". They are also trying to enforce clear labelling on homoeopathic remedies which explain that they have no demonstrable therapeutic effect above placebo.

I don't think they want to explain this though.
