Anybody have a problem with this?

As long as the risks are made clear to the women involved, then I don't see this any different to a nose job or any other type of cosmetic surgery.

There are women out there who have misshapen or uneven labia (not me, in case you're thinking it) and might want to neaten it all up. Or they may simply want smaller ones like they might want larger breasts.

I don't really care if someone wants to pay to make something they consider ugly, more attractive by their own standards. As long as they are psychologically healthy then they should be able to do what they want.

Jeez, I hate to even utter the phrase, but I'll go for it.(Blame the four day weekend I'm toasting with tequila presently).

"Camel Toe".

Either that or it's all the Paris Hilton/Lindsay Lohan/Tart of the Month's getting out of limos without their undies on.

Well, that’s the bit I don’t get.

Okay, in addition to good old p0rn, there’s the chance to get a detailed topographical study of a female’s Happy Fun Zone if she’s wearing appropriately tight clothing in an otherwise non-p0rn picture. Granted. But the quote above didn’t just say they wanted their Bad Touch Place to look like the one on woman in the Bally’s Total Fitness commercial. It said they were inspired to go for the /prepubescent look/, as seen in fashion ads.

Saying “I wanted to have a shaved runway, just like in the Friday night Cinemax movies” is one thing. Saying “I wanted the flaps of a 10 year old, just like I saw in the Sears catalog” is a bit different.

So it’s not so much the look they want that I don’t get, it’s where they said they found inspiration for that look. Unless I really am that far behind the times and non-p0rn fashion pictures of prepubescent girls are in fact showing off camel toes. I haven’t kept up with fashion since my Member’s Only jacket went out of style, so I guess anything is possible at this point.

Well men do the same thing with the penis (only they want it bigger). So why not let woman have some surgery if they want? I think though psychological help would be more useful in cases such as these.

Um.

What kind of magazines are they seeing these 'fashion ads' in where you get a detailed look at prepubescent vulvas, anyway?

The larger the labia and/or clitoris, the sexier it is. I can see someone with a significantly asymmetrical package wanting a little adjustment, but even then I'd be scared of getting the wrong nerve cut, or something pleasurable cut off in the name of "balance".

Ladies, I have only one thing to say. There's stars upon thars!

OK nails, apologise for misgendering you.
I also own a vagina. I also have four children, so I know something about childbirth. And I think there may also be some transatlantic confusion over the term 'labia'. The bit that sometimes gets torn in childbirth is the immediate mouth of the vagina; I thought you were talking about the hanging-down lips in the outer vulva. That's what I call 'labia'. I'm in a hurry right now, so I can't search for the correct terms.
And by 'most women' enjoying clitoral stimulation over vaginal stimulation, I was referring to myself and women I know - unscientific, yes.
Yes, the vagina stretches from childbirth, but can be tightened by post-natal exercises. And the "camel toe" problem can usually be fixed by wearing a pantyliner, not by removing the flesh.
Anyway, gotta go. So apologies for not searching for scientific studies on this.
1. I also own a vagina
2. I also did patient care with a lot of women after childbirth at my local hospital's maternity ward, so I've seen more vaginas than I can say, but it's in the quadruple digits.

The Labia absolutely can be affected by childbirth. Whether it happened to you or not, whether it happens to many women or not , the tearing of the inner labia are possible. The edema that some women have in their pubic area can stretch skin to the point that, when the swelling ebbs a few weeks/ months after child birth, the skin is permanetly stretched. The degree this simply depends on the woman. Having one's labia "caught" on something during "activity" is incredibly painful. This is possible (though I doubt likely) for the outer labia as well.

Male clothing, I would like to note, is usually built to have a certain amount of room in the crotch. Women's clothing is not built to have extra room, and it can be difficult for women to find properly fitting clothes that don't choke off their vaginas.

Sorry to rehash, but I cannot stand mislabeling of genitalia.
