Anti-terror law requires God be acknowledged

The same way "In God We Trust" on our currency prevented it from the Communist Taint.

So, some people think that terrorists target Americans, because God basically wants them to do it (Phelps, Falwell, Robertson, etc.); but, God should also be called upon to help stop the terrorists from attacking. But, if God WANTS them to do it, it's His will, and therefore not subject to our interpretation; but, God also WANTS us to pray to Him for guidance to stop these things from happening. But.....but....but.............

Great...now my head's going to explode like an alien computer after a round of illogical conversation with Captain Kirk......

Well, I suppose praying for terrorists to fail is cheaper than actually doing something about the problem....

Doesn't this violate a little amendment in the constitution?

The Supreme Court shoots down any challenge to the law stating that Kentucky isn't playing favoritism to any specific religion because it won't mention which God.

The basic idea is that God is normally there actively protecting and a-guiding us, but because we, in our human tendency - tend to drift toward evil secularist and homer-sexual ways - so he a-lifts that loving protection and lets us take some hits just to remind us of how lost we would be without his loving care. Therefore the terrorism is all the fault of godless secularists and homer-sexuals.

Don't stay up too late on this one.

Personally I think it would be fine if Kentucky advertised this, they could be like Mecca.

"The safety and security of the Commonwealth cannot be achieved apart from reliance upon Almighty God."

In other words: "If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem."

Atheists are therefore terrorists.

Well, I'm sure there are some people who sleep well at night, knowing that God will stop any terrorist plot to harm them and their families, no matter where the terrorists pop up...

Because, as you know, God would stop those nasty terrorists dead in their tracks...

There are times that I despair at how posturing hijacks the point. This is self defeating.
State Rep. Tom Riner, a Southern Baptist minister, tucked the God provision into Homeland Security legislation as a floor amendment that lawmakers overwhelmingly approved two years ago.
If I may speculate on the thought process of State Rep Reiner:

"I am a caricature already, Mister Cartoonist, so you can't draw me any more inanely."

Generic cartoonist responds: "Wanna bet?"

God seems to be the main inspiration for the terrorists, as well. It would be nice if he could settle things once and for all by taking a side and telling us in an unambiguous way who he likes better (perhaps by writing big letters in the sky). Is that too much to ask of an omnipotent deity?
