Anti-Semitism within the British Labour Party?

All he had to do was keep his gob shut or say something bland about the party as a whole needing to read and digest the report before taking any necessary actions, but, no, even that is too much for him...Demonstrating yet again why some of us have, since the '80s, thought that he was a complete wazzock who shouldn't be left in charge of anything which needed some being in charge of.

I dunno. Keir Starmer is very credible so far, and Labour have made back a massive amount of approval for the short amount of time he's been leader. There's still a long way to go, but the early signs are promising.

I'd love to know what makes Starmer credible because as far as I can see he does very little.

Just today we've seen an example of that - a month and a half ago Starmer called on Johnson for a second lockdown to avoid things getting worse. If the reports are accurate that a second lockdown is to be announced next week, then not only does Starmer seem strong because he correctly predicted the action that needed to be taken, but he looks strong because Johnson is doing what Starmer told him to do.

That's about as good as it can get for the leader of the opposition.

It's a shame that one of the reasons the government were reluctant to reintroduce a lock down earlier was BECAUSE it was being suggested by opposition MPs, including Starmer.

That's not Starmer's fault, of course - it's down to the government.

It's a shame we can't elect politicians who just do the right thing, rather than focus on how they are different from their political opponents: when Labour are in office they behave in a similar way - if the Tory opposition suggest something, then a Labour government will resist doing it for as long as possible.

As you say, it's not Starmer's fault that as soon* as he heard that the government wasn't following SAGE's advice, he issued a statement pushing to follow it, and Johnson decided to make himself look even worse - and shred his pretence of working with the other parties during this national crisis.

True, he's been tearing BuBu apart at PMQs.

He also got the government to U-turn on the NHS surcharge.

At least some in the Labor party recognize there is a problem.

There are a lot of Corbyn fans on Twitter that don't. (I know - you're shocked)

The report heavily criticised Livingstone, who "denied the victims experience, diminished the issue"

Corbyn didn't only reject the report - by claiming that antisemitism was exaggerated, he was demonstrating the behaviour criticised in the report.
