Another wonderful healing technique?

that “…after a near death experience many years ago, I was given the ability to commune with animals in a very unique way.”

Do these people plagiarize each other, or am I just being my usual bitter, negative, cynical self?

Gosh, I hope both are true.

Its hard to believe all this - commune with animals in a very unique way - give me a f..king break. And yes - they are plagiarizing eachother - thats the way they confirm their mutual hallucinations.
What happens when these people are meeting with eachother, can they really keep a straight face. Or do they all break out in laughter.

It obviously depends on the individual's involved, but I suggest you speak to the Catholic school about what arrangements they make for non-Catholic students. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Thanks Zep, for the links, don't think I can get at him for hawking though...

Will keep my ear to the ground on this, and now the guy knows I'm watching, he may be a little more careful when next extolling the virtues of his preferred tretments.

Catholic schools,I dunno, something makes me hesitate.

We'll see what happens..

He IS hawking if he is attempting to promote commercial methods or products for sale to the school and/or the students without authorisation. It could also be the deliberate promotion of religious beliefs onto the students without their parents' permission. It's highly unethical all over, and he should be told to cease forthwith or be reported to his supervisor. I would if it were my child. And I'd be having a meeting of the other parents with the headmaster too. Even if nothing was resolved, the fact that the meeting was called should be enough to stop it dead.

Thanks Zep, Food for thought.

Informally, I have already spoken to a few parents about it, and ,not surprisingly, some of them could'nt see the problem, and viewed me as cynical. I know how it is to be a bleever, or at least credulous, so I have to tread carefully.

The aquisition of my sceptical point of view was hard earned, so my insistence on evidence and proof baffles many people, indeed many are now thinking I am just cynical.

Far from it, I am just learning to hate Bull****.

And it is no diet for my daughter.

This ducky lady can probably make a lot of money working for some XXX-rated film producers....

:o ... so I've heard.

You might want to take a look at the catholic schools. Some of them are quite good and they normally teach real science. The catholic church's official stance is that Genesis is a legend and that evolution actually happened.

I'll add my anecdote - our Catholic school was leagues ahead of the public schools in terms of science eduction. When I went from Catholic grade school to public high school, the first two years of science (Earth Science and Biology) were review. Almost all of my class mates from grade school were in the advanced science courses after Sophomore year. In fact I only remember one kid that refused to accept the evolutionary teachings in our biology class, and he was a Jehova's Witness who gone to the public primary school.

Throw in the smaller class sizes and I think it is a great route. If you can deal with having classes on religion (not to be confused with theology) and the tuition, it is not a bad option.

I agree - if they want to use such medicine on their own children then they can do so...at home.

See what they say if you suggest to them that you will recommend to the school that the children should be treated with animal sacrifice as a medical procedure. Tell them this is what is practiced in many "natural cultures", and even has a Biblical precedent. Or voodoo or somesuch. They might think you are crazy and tell you so. Rather than the obvious rejoinder, tell them that these medical practices are just as valid as those the teacher is espousing for their children, and you don't see why they should not be exposed to it. Then ask them where they keep their own dog or cat - you're just doing a census in advance...

I'd still push for a meeting with the headmaster though, even one-on-one, to convey your concerns. With veiled threats to contact (a) the Education Minister and Premier in Hobart, and (b) A Current Affair and This Day Tonight, if it doesn't stop ASAP.
