Caught Sylvia Browne on Montel today. Ohhhhhh boy was this bad. The following is paraphrased, but it's the general idea.

Woman says: I lost my boyfriend a few years ago. They never found him, and I've been having a really hard time. (she chokes back tears)

Sylvia: Well the reason they never found him is because he's in water. And when someone's in water it's very hard to find them.

Woman: Well, he died on September 11th. He was a firefighter in the Trade Center. They never found a piece of him.

Loooong, uncomfortable pause................

Sylvia: Are you sure he couldn't have been in water?

Woman (who looks piiiiised): No

Sylvia: Well, he's telling me that his lungs are filled, that he can't breathe. Maybe I'm seeing water because they were trying to put out the fire.

:boggled:

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but it's just one more spectaclar failure in a string of spectacular failures. Sheesh.

wow, so basically he lived thru the destruction, but either he killed himself or the other firefighters drowned him. way to go sylvia. i cant believe montel has her on, i actually thought he used to be classier than that.

Caught Sylvia Browne on Montel today.

Presuming your talking about the 5-24-06 episode, how about when she answered some guy in the audience's question and then asked if he had a big dog that had recently passed away? She only got a blank stare from this guy and then modified her question to ask if any one in that part of the audience had a dog that had passed away! After a couple seconds of silence, the guy she was orginally talking to did admit he had dog, he never mentioned the size, who had passed away seven years ago. Obviously through her psychic abilities, Ms Brown determined that the dog enjoyed running around and chasing its tail, since that was what the spirit of the dog was doing at that moment. :boggled:

It was the best example of cold reading I've ever seen. I just wish some of my freinds who believe this crap were around to see it.

The saddest part, however, is that SB's devotees will consider this to be yet another spectacular success for her.

I would very much like to have a repository of clips like these.

Documentation, people.

Sylvia Brown isn't real. She says that she is "psychic" because she wants you to believe that.

DON'T. DON'T believe her.

She is trying to fool you and I, but it won't work because we are smarter than that!

Today on Montel

The guests we’ll meet today have questions they say only world-renowned psychic Sylvia Browne can answer. We’ll meet Jessica, who says one day she was overcome by an unknown force, which forced her to start writing pages and pages of messages. She found out that the notes were meant for her roommate’s friend and were from the friend’s boyfriend who had recently passed away in a car accident. She wants to ask Sylvia if she has a gift and why she was used for these messages. We’ll talk to Laurie, whose mother died at 3:33 in the morning. A few months later, she was jolted out of bed at 3:30 in the morning, to find her infant son not breathing. She says this has happened a number of times, and wants to know if her mother is the one waking her up. We’ll meet Lucy, whose nine-year-old daughter often sees people no one else can. Her daughter frequently sees a man, and one time the man told her about how he killed people, and also showed her symbols, which her daughter was able to draw for her. She wants to know what the symbols are and why her daughter is being haunted by this man. We’ll meet Tamara, whose mother died in January. She wants to know if her mother was trying to give her any messages the night she passed away. She is also desperate to find her brother, who has been missing for several years. She wants to know if her brother even knows about their mother’s death, and she wants to know if he is alive. Plus, we’ll meet Karen, who says she sees the number 49 everywhere. When she looks at a clock, it says 49 and when she gets change, it’s always 49 cents. She is afraid that it means she is going to die when she is 49.

According to tvguide.com, Montel comes on in my area in 30 minutes. And the guest is Sylvia Browne.

Calling the wife to record...

She got set-up big time.

I don't know if anyone put her up to it, but Tamara set her up. The fact that she only describes her brother as "missing for several years" indicates that she blatently did NOT want Sylvia to know that it was 9/11, and wanted to see if Sylvia could actually come up with that, because anyone who was really psychic should be able to tell.

I saw the episode, and didn't catch anything about 9/11. I did see the part about the woman (Tamara), and it was about a missing brother, not a boyfriend.

Darn! I was able to tape the last half of the show but I missed the part about 9/11. I did catch some truly stupid questions, and Sylvia made predictions about tornadoes and hurricanes for the summer. We'll see how that turns out. Maybe I can post them sometime tomorrow.

I'm really surprised that didn't get edited from the show before it was aired. Her PR people must be slipping.

Sylvia is just so sick.

And HOW does medical science keep her alive? Heck, just smoke and eat whatever you want, exercise? what's that?

I'm thinking she's got a pact with the devil so she can stay alive and keep doing evil....

Or it could be that she routinely purchases an item that, with tax, comes to $X.51 and she always pays with even dollar amounts, and she's in the habit of checking the clock at the same point in the day. Sheesh.

Omigosh! I work at Starbucks, and I keep giving people 30 cents change! It's not that the most common drink costs $1.70; it's a sign from beyond!
