Folks, the verdict has been issued. She'll be going to the shrink box for the rest of her life.

Not prison, I know, but it will serve the same purpose.
 
Actually, she already has privileges such as day trips to Wal Mart - at least according to the CourtTV reporter.

As for going to the shrink box for the rest of her life, that's not for sure. She's going until a judge decides she's not crazy any more, and that could be any time.

The verdict means Yates will be committed to a state mental hospital until a judge deems that's she's no longer a threat.

Her defense was post-partum depression. That doesn't last a lifetime.

It could, in theory, be any time, but my impression is that psychiatric detention in situations like this tends to last a very long time.

Well, the fact is, that she should never be released back into society, and now she has a chance to be. And now I am sure she will get to enjoy TV, checkers, and worshiping God. Things her children will never get to do.

Right you are. No one in prison enjoys TV, checkers or worshiping God.
