And the boats keep coming

OH! I had a girlfriend who was a nurse in A&E. She had to pull a number of things out from the same location.

No idea why people give a tinker's cuss about who lives in the same country as them. It's not as if those bemoaning immigration are going to get on with the bloke down the road, is it?

Australia is overpopulated..... LOL that made my day.

Yes, with urban families living on blocks of land that would support at least 15 in many other parts of the world. The McMansion sprawl must end one day.

i guess amb is living in a part of australia where you have to fly an hour to meet your neihbors, and when you then see Sidney in TV you surely can get the impression that it is overpopulated there :D

Yes, Nimby Park. If you have a look at a map of Western Xenophobia it's over on the far right. Easiest way to get there is to go through Willful Ignorance and when you start to see the signs, close your eyes, put your fingers in your ears and go "La-la, la-la, la."

Don't forget to take a decent shovel to create your entrenched position (although a recent trend seems to be simply adopting someone elses).

They don't say how this individual arrived here but an Iranian man in a refugee camp suggests a boat.

Assuming this bloke is guilty, what should we do with him?

Northern Territory Police are investigating allegations that an asylum seeker indecently assaulted girls at Darwin's wave pool.

The Iranian man allegedly indecently assaulted six schoolgirls people at the pool on the Darwin waterfront yesterday.

Never mind all the left wing crap. The important thing is that the failure to protect our borders, plus the carbon tax will assure that this sorry excuse for a government is turfed out and will never recover from the mauling it will surely get come the next general election. I predict at least a ten percent swing on a TPP. and a loss of more than 20 seats. Watch Queensland next year as a prelude to the coming catastrophe for Labor, and there I say it, the loony Greens.

Little Johnny Howard seemed to have a solution. Revive it.

Never mind all the right wing crap. The important thing is that the failure to offer genuine alternatives to almost anything the government proposes, plus the prevention of a conscience vote on the issue of same sex marriage, will assure that this sorry excuse for an opposition is ridiculed and will plummet in the polls closer to election date and be forced to once again reshuffle its cabinet in futile desperation. I predict at least a ten percent swing on a TPP and a loss of more than 20 seats. I also predict that Tom Cruise will evolve into Pikachu and sail across the Ganges on a sacred goat called William.

If he's guilty send him to jail like any other criminal. What happens after that becomes a little more difficult. I'm guessing you just want to send him back to Iran, but we might not be able to.

As I understand it we are unable to return this bloke because Iran will not accept their own people back.

After he's done his time, what do we do with him? You say "it's a little more difficult". Well duh!
You would simply happily release him into the community, I guess? Give him welfare, a home and a job - and then let him bring the rest of his family over?

In the meantime he has cost the Australian public a fortune in detention costs, legal fees, gaol (presumably) and welfare. All this for a criminal and (it seems) a paedophile.

Great! Just great.

This is one of the reasons why we need strong border protection laws; we do not need potential criminals arriving leaving us in situation that is a fait accompli.

Prevention is better than cure, as they say.

Stop sitting on the fence and tell us what you really think!

Can I just say that white Australians complaining about immigration, and, for bonus points, by criminals, has let me start the day with a smile.

What was that, amb?

The Pacific solution. No asylum seeker allowed onto the mainland until verified a true refugee. It seemed to work did it not? The boats were just a trickle in the last few months of the previous government compared to the more than a dozen boatloads in less than three weeks. This is just the beginning, watch this space in the next few months.

And just how would you have screened this bloke perhaps with no priors or poor documentation?

One reason we might not ship him back is because he could be executed at home. We should not be deporting anyone into that kind of situation. My sister has the unenviable job of being involved in such decisions.
