Newton,

Your assumptions are false. There was no tool scam for several years. There was growth for several years. The tool scam was born because the "normal" business wasn't profitable ENOUGH for SOME individuals. Their ill-gotten and hidden financial success attracted more people over time, and Amway helped provide their cover. There are countries where there is no tool scam and the business is growing. Many, if not most, MLMs don't allow a profit to be made on tools. You are locked into a mindset of "what is", rather than "what was", or "what could be." Very sad for you, because you have much knowledge you are not putting to constructive use.

crit,

Anecdotal points of reference are not very helpful. Your friends were taught to say Quixtar isn't Amway, and the corporation even encouraged this, but Quixtar is gone now, so it's a moot point. Your friends could have returned their products for a refund, assuming they had them for less than 6 months, so that is also a moot point. However, they did lose a lot of money to the tool scam, that is fairly certain, and a legitimate point.

Sounds good. Be safe, and thanks for putting our Amway discussion in proportion.

I will be safe. Have been in riots here before. Nothing new. Just have to watch out for the Naxalites a bit more south, they blow up stuff. The rest is quite demure and keep fighting around me, as I am quite a bit taller and have way more bulk than they.
Plus I sometimes resemble a Harley biker...

Friday we have a bandh... so I will not even try, because everything might be shut down. (A bandh is a kind of 'strike day' which not very un-often results in people slapping each other).

Flying on Saturday, sleeping most of Sunday (Netherlands time) will be posting a common time on Sunday evening (NL time).

I continue to find it amazing the only 2 "takers", one of which has a speaking issue ("Nobby", who didn't show up at the agreed upon time/day or suggest a new time), and the other is half-way around the world, dodging bombs and bullets, while the rest of "experts" on this thread cower in fear. LOL

Dodging bombs and bullets is too much hype Tex :)

Things are just as they are. If you think clearly and avoid the risky area's there's no problem at all.

I've never been delayed traveling because of violence, so I don't consider it hype. You never know where an errant bullet may fly or a bomb may go off, if they are in your area. That's one of the goals of terrorism, do something different/different location to make people wonder where it may occur next.

Tex, I'm 1/8th of the way around the world dodging bullets, and you still don't have the guts or the courtesy to post anything relevant. This is turning into one of those, I have superpowers, and I'll prove it to you threads, but now's not the right time.

Hurry, Tex; we might die before we see the Light of Amway.

The inital growth stage of pyramid schemes is always faster before the field is saturated. Once the structure was in place, then the only way to really draw more blood from the structure was the tools scam.

Richard, you wouldn't know relevant if bit you on the backside. I've posted plenty of relevant posts, you are too ignorant to recognize them. Why should I get a light out? You're blind!!! LOL

Almo, Amway has never saturated. Thankfully, there are signs the tool scam has saturated, but not the Amway business. Not even close. The tool scam put the profits on steroids, but NOT because of saturation, because of greed.

I continue to find it amazing 2 "takers", would even consider talking to a brainwashed zealot too "chicken" to post a single argument LOL, while Tex2 on this thread cowers in fear of an honest debate. LOL

...LOL LOL

Ok tex, I'll call you this weekend. I'm driving up to Vancouver so I can chat on the drive up since I don't have anything else to do. I'm leaving around 10:30am pacific.

Meh, I just like to take people on in challenges. I must have that Toxoplasma thingy ;)

Fergie, an honest debate is based on facts that matter, not irrelevant fact and fiction topics.

Newton, nothing to do on your trip, really? I could overnight you a tape or CD! Just kidding, I couldn't resist that one.

Do you want to call the conference call number that's on my site at 11:00 am Saturday your time, or some other time?

Real, challenge away, just be sure you stick to the facts, or you will surely lose the challenge.

Texie!

Are you here pestering these nice people with your idiotic calls for a 'conference call' so they can 'see the facts' (he actually typed that once!)?

Once again you have taken advantage of people who deserve better. Here's Tex's story:

Tex is a 50 year old Amway salesman. He has been one for over 16 years. At his peak years and years ago, Tex had about 10 salesmen under him and made about 1000PV 'group' volume. After about 12 years (he's fast!), he figured out that his caring 'upline' was making most of their money selling 'valuable tools' to Tex. Tex probably (safe estimate) lost over $35K buying the Amway dream. Well, Tex decided he was going to strike back and bought every single cheap/discarded 'tool' (i.e. - motivational tapes and CDs) that he could find. He has over 10,000 of them. He has figured that if he can convince enought people that there is a 'tool scam' that people will flock to him and he can provide them with 'free' tools and finally get the group and recognition he thinks he should get.

He likes to toss names out - but he's truly on his own. He is apt to call himself a 'published author' because on many blogs you have to hit 'publish comment' for it to be seen. I'm not kidding.

Oh - the 'Conference Call'. Tex will step on his crank repeatedly in writing and then waste everyone's time trying to twist and spin and deny it. He finds (due to his extensive cult (Amway) training) that the 'spoken' word is easier to deny when you contradict yourself. It's been his latest thing for probably over a year now.

But, by all means - pop over to Tex's site to see what 16 years of cult can do to your mind.

Gold nugget: Tex is convinced he makes a profit just buying Amway products because if he buys enough he gets a check from them. Tex did not know that you have to SELL something to actually make a profit.

16 years in Amway. 50 years old. All be glad that you are not Tex!

For your reference, or anyone else that wants to call in, the number to call is: (616)597-8000 Access Code 975016#

pcj, nice to see you. Glad you crawled out of your slime pit and joined us. I'll be happy to straigten out your half-truths during the call. Will you be calling in? LOL

Note the above phone number is in "Skype format", and making a call from a Skype connection will cost more than what a Skype to Skype call would cost (nothing).
