Dude, that attitude is so 1920's. I'm not Chicken Little, because the dollar really is declining, and our debt really is out of control, but you are definitely Pollyanna, because you refuse to admit this could be a problem.

It has happened before, and can easily happen again. I do not subscribe to to faith-based futures market.

My own theory is that most voters are just waiting till the left makes them wealthy enough to start voting for the right.

The thing that I don't understand is that this level of debt would have the right out on the streets demanding impeachment, yet, when they do it themselves, it is of no real consequence. As an election issue, it didn't rate, yet Reagan used exactly the same issue as one of the planks of his election.

Wasn't there a governor out west somewhere recently (I think he says he is going try a career as an actor) who was recalled --- not impeached ....because of the level of debt his state's administration had incurred?

Hmm...I wonder if a president can be "recalled"?
