American? VOTE!

I will be voting after work. In my area, the Republicans have very little opposition. I was hoping that Adam Putnam would have some decent competition this time, but as expected, the Dems won't even consider putting in any resources to unseat Putnam here in our Republican Haven. Last election Putnam won with 70%. This is a man who rubber stamps anything handed to him by the Bush Administration, no questions ever need to be asked. He is running against two independents, one of which is a college student! Many of our local politicians(they are all Republicans) will be completely uncontested - not even an unknown independent to compete with.

Even Katherine Harris(who trails Nelson by a good margine) is ahead in our area. Lot's of Harris signs all over the place here; very few for Nelson. She is one of the main reasons that I will go out and put in my vote today. She must be defeated.

My polling place is a block away. Makes it really hard to say I can't be arsed. So I didn't. Got my sticker at 7 a.m.

:D

Since I am not from Naboo, I can't vote for him. What's his position on the flat tax, if I may ask?

DR

Not sure, but I think he takes the Rush Limbaugh approach to the environment:

Destroy a planet and its natural cycles will return it to pristine condition.

Here we have to vote whether or not to retain judges. I have to admit, I voted "no" on any w/ an Irish name, simply to cancel out those who vote for judges just because they have an Irish name. Who the hell actually keeps tabs on the 100 or so judges up for retention anyway?

I also wrote in Brian Urlacher for Water Reclamation District Commissioner. :D

One of the ballot initiatives (non-binding) was "For the protection of the children of Cook County, should military-style assault weapons and .50 caliber rifles be banned?" Talk about a leading question! What nonsense.

My polling place was in the rec room of a old folks home. Subtle influence towards social security?

Nice twist.

No, but a weaker mind, maybe.

I’m surprised all you atheists don’t object to a polling place being in a crutch, opps sorry, I mean church. I’ve just lost faith, ha ha ha, in you

Easy as pie, my left buttock.

"Okay, he filled in the circle correctly next to Slimeworth as his first choice. Now, for his second choice, did he mark Phlegmsnot? Or was that just a stray ink blob? And he punched out the circles next to Greasepalm and Sturdley..."
We manage to get the numbers of our choices into the boxes on out ballot papers in the majority of cases. And thereby elect some #@^%#$ing politician or other. I blame the education system for teaching us to count and colour-in.
