Amanda Knox and the State Department

I've done my time on the thread. I'm not about to do it again. I am certainly not going to go picking through any other cases that are "identical" to the Knox one.

If I did post to the Thread, I'd just get pecked to death. I don't fancy it.

Yes, anyone who thought her guilty was taunted, insulted and doxed, not a lot of fun and difficult to avoid the yellow patches.

So, less corrupt than a hundred and six other countries ... on a scale that places the US seventeenth.

And the same organization's Global Corruption Barometer put's Italy 17th and the US 21st.

And none of this provides any of the answers that you promised relating to my post. There's no evidence of US intervention.

So Samson is basing his opinion on the rottenness of Italy not on how corrupt Italy actually is, but on how corrupt the good people of Rio Linda think it is.

As a long time resident of Sacramento,CA,I can state that Rush Limbuagh is full of B.S. in his libels on Rio Linda.

which includes

This only shows that B/M is a foolish Mad Hatter's declaration saying "the American perp is always right", and it's always tea time: it's a political verdict that serves a colonialist power, telling that law justice truth and logic can <edited by me> themselves.

Therefore this is an Italian view that seems to support the OP for this thread.

Luca Cheli has posted a strong view on Injustice Anywhere.

Including:

"Hence someone more politically realistic and shrewd than the others added to the "conviction scenarios" at the end of the ruling a lightweight one ("exclusive forcing to an unwanted sex game"), which would potentially have involved very light sentences and allowed Italy to avoid requesting Knox's extradition (which was the main political issue).

But Nencini misunderstood what was asked from him, or did not want to comply, or was completely oblivious to it, so he came out with a sentence even longer that the original one.

This was clearly too much and so the next panel was adequately warned of what the right path was going to be.

There was political pressure in the meantime from the US? I definitely think there was."

So there we have it from a foremost Italian analyst.
