Allison DuBois says "Baby Gabriel Johnson," missing since December 2009, will be found "within the year."

Missing Baby Gabriel Johnson: Do Disturbing New Photos Show Baby's Last Day Alive?

Arizona police have released new photos showing missing 8-month old Gabriel Johnson seemingly lethargic and holding what appears to be a medicine bottle.

Police believe the photos were snapped by the boy's mother, Elizabeth Johnson, on the last day little Gabriel was seen alive.
...
Elizabeth Johnson, 23, has stymied police efforts to find her child. She was arrested Dec. 30 after a two week road trip that took her to San Antonio and eventually Miami. When police picked her up, her baby was gone.

The boy's biological father, Logan McQueary, says she texted him that she had killed Gabriel and later told him that she put Gabriel's body in a diaper bag and threw it in a trash bin.
...
Elizabeth Johnson has been indicted on charges of kidnapping, child abuse and custodial interference. She remains in custody.

In March 2010, Allison DuBois appears on television:

'It's Ugly. It's Vindictive. It's This Case,' Medium Says

Baby Gabriel will be found, says renowned medium Allison DuBois.

DuBois, whose psychic gifts form the basis for the hit CBS television series "Medium," sat down with CBS 5 News to share her impressions of the case surrounding missing baby Gabriel Johnson, who was last seen with his mother, Elizabeth Johnson, the day after Christmas in San Antonio, Texas.

Johnson sits in a Maricopa County jail on kidnapping charges relating to the case.

"I feel like (Gabriel will) be found," DuBois said. "It does feel like helicopters are already overhead; it's a place where they're looking."
...
DuBois said she used several methods to gain an understanding of the case.

"For instance, if I look at a picture of Gabriel, (the) first thing I look at is his eyes," she said. "That's my window into him. But because he's so young and can't communicate, it's very difficult for me to pull information from him."

What she couldn't read from Gabriel's picture, she read from a video of Johnson in court and the sound of her voice on tape, DuBois said.

DuBois also looked at the text messages Johnson sent to Gabriel's father, Logan McQueary, the day after the baby was last seen.

"I'm already boarding a plane out of the country," Johnson wrote in one of the messages. "When I'm safe, I'll e-mail you the exact location of dead Gabriel's little blue body, if the garbage don't come first."

"I just feel like when she said that, she was sending (McQueary) off on a wild goose chase and trying to hurt the father," DuBois said.

DuBois said she also believes McQueary played no part in what may have happened to his son.
...
Nevertheless, DuBois said she believes that Gabriel will be found "within the year."

Baby Gabriel Will Be Found, Psychic Claims; Glad That's Cleared Up
PhoenixNewTimes.com
March 3, 2010

Psychic Allison DuBois, whose psychic ability was the subject of a 2008 New Times feature, sat down with CBS 5 to give the network her take on the baby Gabriel case, and she believes -- based on what, we don't know -- that Johnson will be found within the year.
...
After skipping a custody hearing and driving to San Antonio, Johnson sent McQueary text-messages saying she had killed the baby and she would e-mail McQueary "the exact location of dead Gabriel's little blue body, if the garbage don't come first."

When asked why Elizabeth Johnson took Gabriel and then sent him the chilling text-messages, Dubois says, "I think she did it because she wanted to hurt the father, like she said."

Incredible! We were thinking the exact same thing -- maybe we're psychics, too.
...
DuBois says she feels that investigators are close to finding Gabriel -- but not buried in a San Antonio landfill where police have been searching.

Not a bad guess considering cops have been combing the landfill for nearly a month and have found zilch.

In the final analysis, after devoting nearly four minutes of airtime and a 90-minute interview to the claims of a psychic, CBS 5 has told us nothing we didn't know a week ago.

“Her gift has helped investigators solve countless cases”. So it should be easy to provide credible evidence of just one case she has helped to solve. Waiting . . . (but not holding breath) . . .

So, in summary:

1. Dubois gets free publicity doing this interview.

2. If she's wrong and the baby isn't found by next March, no one will remember what she said.

3. If she's right, she can claim an amazing hit for her next book.

I believe our own RSL proved this one to be a wrong assumption when it comes to Sylvia Browne. Is anyone working on StopAllison?

Is it just me or does DuBois seemed to be smiling in the news report? She seemed to be very smug and pleased with herself. The story of the baby is so tragic and sad yet she is basking in her own glory.

A craven, reprehensible, contemptible, loathesome, vile, detestable, execrable, shabby excuse for a human being.

I've only read the bits quoted here, but she's quoted as saying "Baby Gabriel will be found", "I feel like (Gabriel will) be found", "found within the year"...

Does she specifically say at any point that he will be found alive (or dead for that matter)?

What she couldn't read from Gabriel's picture, she read from a video of Johnson in court and the sound of her voice on tape, DuBois said.

Sounds a little like some sort of cold reading. Was Johnson questioned in these recordings so that she could observe her reactions to particular questions?

Moreover, does she actually say what "found" means?
Example: Let's say the baby would have been left in the middle of a road.
Someone sees the baby and moves on.

Does in fact the baby wasn't "found" by the individual?

Even if the baby would be found 10 years later, she will always claim that "someone might have found her" during that time.

I also wondered that and read the article through looking for the answer. As far as I can tell, she didn't say, or if she did say, it was mentioned.

There's a superb piece of tabloid journalism in the KPHO video, and I'm keen to know if anyone else took it the same way I did on first viewing.

At 1:28 the reporter says

Catherine Anaya
"What she can't read from Gabriel, Allison says she can read from this video of Elizabeth in court, and the sound of her voice on tape."

There is then a female voice says

"Everything that she said is so completely false."

The first time I watched this video, I thought that voice was Allison's, but on repeat viewings realized that it was actually the voice of Gabriel's mother, Elizabeth Johnson. Did anyone else think this was Allisons voice the first time around? It's the only time during the interview that we hear someone apart from Allison or Catherine speak, and (call me a cynic) it does appear that particular piece of audio was played at that point to suggest that Allison was claiming that everything the mother said was false. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it, but I'd be interested to know if anyone else thought the same thing.

No, Allison never says alive or dead. One of her common tactics if you read other transcripts in other cases (use the tags at the top of the thread).

The general police consensus seems to be that the child is dead.

Baby Gabriel Case Turns Cold After 6 Months ‎

Here's an update:
Baby Gabriel Case Turns Cold After 6 Months ‎
KPHO Phoenix
June 28, 2010

Sunday marked the six-month anniversary of Baby Gabriel's disappearance from Tempe.

The little boy was last seen with his mother, Elizabeth Johnson, right after Christmas. She left town with Gabriel, violating the custody agreement with the baby's father, Logan McQueary.
...
Johnson claimed she gave the baby, with Smith’s help, to a couple in San Antonio, and that's where the trail went cold.

McQueary and his family have continued their hunt, and have hired a private investigator to help find Gabriel.
