cracks are appearing in Trump's support base and when those cracks reach the Republicans in Washington, they will be looking out for their own survival and dump Trump.
We're sinking, every man for himself!

But Republicans can't 'dump' Trump without doing enormous damage to themselves. Their only* hope is that he goes quietly into the night - but knowing Trump that won't happen. He will hang on to the bitter end, and if they do manage to push him out there will be a bloodbath.

Which serves them right. They ran Trump because they didn't have any candidates who were any good, so they made a pact with the Devil. To late to take it back now!

*Actually is one other way they could save themselves - if Trump was to be assassinated by a 'leftist' nutjob with rumored ties to the Clintons. They just better hope nobody records them setting up the hit!

It was a good tactic by Comey.

The argument that it was a leak is ridiculous because the memo is not classified material. The fact that Comey will never be charged with leaking classified documents because of this is sure to not bother Trump supporters about this.

Of course it won't.

It will become part of the Trumpette canon. More evidence that "they" are out to get Trump, and "they" are defending his enemies.

Totally irrelevant to the topics in question in either of those. I forgive you for your dislike, either way, but would expect that if it was actually about assumptions then you wouldn't like your suggestion especially much, either.

Next time write simple and I will try to reply to you

IMO, the GOP will not indict. The damage of indictment will exceed the damage of not. At least in their minds.

Let's see how far Trump is willing to go to test his Republican support in Washington. Taking a look back:

GOP consumed by crisis as more Republicans call on Trump to quit race

The Republican Party plunged into an epic and historic political crisis Saturday with just a month to go until Election Day as a growing wave of GOP lawmakers called on defiant presidential nominee Donald Trump to drop out of the race in the wake of a video showing him make crude sexual remarks.

The fallout from the tape published by The Washington Post — in which Trump bragged in obscene language about forcing himself on women sexually — threatens to endanger the party’s hold on both houses of Congress in addition to the White House, which many Republicans now fear is lost. The episode also comes ahead of Sunday’s second presidential debate in St. Louis, which was already a crucial moment but could determine how widely the damage spreads.

Let's see how much more Trump supporters can take before they finally throw in the towel.

Trump is losing his most loyal supporters: Poll
Trump's use of Twitter is driving voters crazy, as his loyalists begin to rethink their support

Voters are begging President Donald Trump to end his tweeting, and the president’s most loyal supporters are beginning to waver.

According to a new Politico/Morning Consult poll, 69 percent of voters said Trump uses Twitter too much and 59 percent said his use of Twitter “is a bad thing.” A majority of voters also believe that the president’s tweets are a detriment to national security, according to the poll.

Donald Trump losing support among core voters as they begin to regret their decision, poll finds
Republicans thought he 'would become more presidential - but he has not,' political communications expert tells The Independent

Donald Trump is being abandoned by his white male core supporters, as well as other members of the Republican Party, a new poll has found.

I am not buying anything. You should have seen the interviews of FORMER Trump supporters on TV. Trump is approaching his fifth month in office and there are Trump supporters who are beginning to see the light. Trump is an idiot who needs to step down in order to make America great again.

U.S. voters think Trump is an "idiot," and now trust media more than him to tell truth: Quinnipiac poll

Voters Describe Trump As ‘Idiot’ and ‘Liar’ in Disastrous New Poll

Not exactly what I would call a popular president in the eyes of the majority of Americans.

Is Trump Russia’s Useful Idiot, or Has He Been Irreparably Compromised?

Well, we can take a look here.

Asked to describe Trump, America’s most common replies are ‘idiot’ and ‘incompetent’

Quinnipiac University’s most recent poll mirrors past surveys from the organization in the era of Donald Trump: The president is not very popular.

Putin continues to make Trump the idiot that he is, which serves to confirm American polls that Trump is indeed, an idiot.

A Russian newspaper editor explains how Putin made Trump his puppet
“They consider him a stupid, unstrategic politician.”

This article really sums up my opinion of the current Trump+Russia issue. It's framed as a Comey article, but it really applies to the whole situation.

http://www.businessinsider.com/james-comey-testimony-moment-trump-russia-2017-6

The gist of the article is that the Russians meddled in our elections. Maybe they even hacked into our election systems. This is serious. We need to understand why they did that. We need to determine how to prevent it in the future. We need to know how far they got, and whether our election mechanisms could be hacked to the point where someone could change the outcome by actually faking results. (There's no evidence that happened, but it's important to know whether they could have done it, or how close they got to it.) These are all very important things.

Trump's interest in this seems to be strictly limited to how this affects him politically. I'm not even sure it's "political" in the usual sense. It might even be limited to his public image.

To be fair to The Donald, that is what everyone seems to be talking about in the media. Certainly there is a strong anti-Trump faction whose main interest in a foreign power sticking their nose into our elections is the hope that it will lead to trouble for the winner. No doubt Donald Trump is not the only one who is mainly concerned about this matter just because of what it does to Trump.

However, to also be completely and 100% fair, the President is supposed to be better than that. He is supposed to be concerned about the fate of the country, not the fate of the President. It would only be human to be concerned about the effects of something like this on his reputation, on his reelection chances, on the effect it could have on the party, but I would like to think the President of the United States would also want to find out information about the actual problem, which is that Vladmir Putin, an old school dictator, is meddling in our elections.

A pox on those, on the left, the right, and in the White House, who thinks that Donald Trump's poll numbers are more significant than that.

And Trump's the man to do that.

Right after he gets done flooding ... er, emptying the swamp.

And between golf games.

How simple? Simple like the totally superficial assessment that you were trying to defend in the first part?

For the second part, again, your claim rested on shaky assumptions and I pointed out an alternative that was roughly as well supported. It was not a claim that either one was actually the case. You responded that I was making a lot of assumptions and that you didn't like that. I pointed out that your suggestion also made a lot of assumptions and asked you to clarify which assumptions that I was making in the alternative were bad assumptions, in your opinion.

Still, perhaps I could have simplified that to, "Which assumptions are unreasonable?"

They're really the most important things about Russia's involvement, quite frankly. Trump himself is a side note to that, at best, even if he engenders and is the result of so much more that's problematic and seriously needs to be addressed.

No! I am posting the facts! Trump is an idiot and the Russians have been making him look like the idiot that he is.

Let's not forget how the Russians made Trump a laughing stock with those White House photos.

Kremlin outfoxes White House over photos of Trump meeting with Russians

The Kremlin outmaneuvered the White House over the dissemination of photos of a rare Oval Office meeting between President Trump and top Russian diplomats that was closed to the U.S. press.

Although the media was barred from Wednesday's meeting, the Russian-owned TASS news agency shortly afterward began circulating more than a dozen photos showing a beaming Trump shaking hands with visiting Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...hotographer-works-tass-news-agency/101543498/

And how the military came to Trump's aid for damage control after Trump goofed when he slam Qatar and not knowing that Qatar was an ally of the US and home of the largest US military base in the Middle East.

Qatar crisis: White House in damage control mode after Trump's tweet sides with Saudi Arabia

A day after the Gulf monarchies announced the snapping of ties, Trump went on to take credit for the diplomatic pressure placed on Qatar via a tweet. "During my recent trip to the Middle East, I stated that there can no longer be funding of Radical Ideology. Leaders pointed to Qatar – look!" Trump said in a mid-morning post that sharply sided with Riyadh and undermined the US' relations with Doha.

Other US departments have also attempted to lessen the effect of Trump's diplomatic damage since Doha is perhaps the US' most important military outpost in the region. Qatar hosts Washington's al-Udeid air base, which is the hub for US' air operations across the Middle East and Afghanistan. The facility is vital for Washington's aerial assault not just against the Islamic State (Isis) in Syria and Iraq but also against other militants in countries such as Yemen and Afghanistan.

Questioned about the latest diplomatic situation and Trump's remark, the US defence department simply praised Qatar for sheltering the US' "enduring commitment to regional security". The state department expressed similar views on the matter thanking Doha and added: "We recognise that Qatar continues to make efforts to stop the financing of terror groups, including prosecuting suspected financiers, freezing assets, introducing stringent controls on its banking system. They have made progress in this arena but we recognise that more needs to be done."

It's time for Trump to step down before he cause even more damage to the United States of America.

Seems that there are folks who think it is best to take matters into their own hands.

Senate Strikes Deal on Russia Sanctions, Stripping Power From Trump

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Senate has reached a bipartisan agreement on a new round of sanctions against Russia, a move that will likely force President Donald Trump to either sign or veto a measure that he has not said he supports.

The sanctions are in response to a trio of Russian actions, including their interference in the 2016 election, engagement in Syria and invasion of Crimea.

In a rebuke to the president, negotiators agreed that the additional sanctions on Russia would prohibit the president from being able to lift them without Congressional approval.

In addition, the measure would codify existing sanctions and place new economic restrictions in an effort to economically harm specific individuals and Russia's economy.

Seemingly quite a lot....

Approvals rating among Republicans is still over 80% and is now marginally higher among Republicans than it was when it took a dip a couple of months ago.

I wonder what will happen when the Mexican wall will NOT be built, at least with Mexico money. What will he tell to the public?

Trump could literally cause people they know to die and they would still support him.

Trump supporters are worthless trash and I am not being hyperbolic.

Nothing? Anything? It means nothing either way to his cheerleaders; they like when he lies. Similar to the Putinette phenomena.
