Would you say you saw the crash and heard the sound at the same time or was there a space between ?

I heard the jet engine well before the crash, but as I mentioned in the video I was unable at the time to differentiate a separate, clearly distinct explosion sound -- it kind of muffled together.

A few people have asked me this -- it wasn't like "Whoosh...pause...Boom!". It was more "whooooooOOOOOOOSHHHHHHHhhhhh..."

Not like this video then at about 46 seconds. If you play it a little loud you will notice a clear gap between the impact and the explosion.

Did this resemble your experience ?

what is your point? Unless he was at the same location as the video recording, the sound might be different. There might be a delay (due to speed of sound). The witness might have experienced overlapping sound due to echos caused by the numerous and tall skyscrapers. The audio equipment recording the noise may have had drop out, or sound loss due to the sound topping out.

SO what is your point bill?

Here's a question for you TAM. We clearly hear the plane coming in. We clearly hear the delayed explosion in the building. But did you hear the sound of the plane hitting 33 steel box columns each braced every 12 feet against a concrete floor slab ?

The light weight concrete floors?
The explosion sound of Flight 175's impact was not delayed. Don't you understand sound? It takes time for sound to travel;; light beats sound in traveling. You need to get some physics.

Yes we hear the plane hitting the building! It is the explosives sound; the impact kinetic energy was equal to 2093 pounds of TNT - that was the sound of impact, as powerful as a 2000 pound bomb.

Do you know the speed of light? Of sound?

This is a bit of stretch for the topic, but if you don't mind:
Where were you when the first (and / or) second tower fell down?
Did you hear any explosive sounds?
Would you compare them to the sounds heard when they implode tall buildings? (google las vegas death watch or search youtube for building demolitions to see and hear examples)

I was back in the office calling my then-wife when the South Tower fell, so I didn't witness it.

I did witness the North tower falling. It was more of a dull roar than anything else.

I was to the West. My view of the plane's approach was not obstructed in any way, but the better part of the explosion occurred outside of my view. What I saw mostly was the North side exploding outwards, as well as the dusty poof on the South side of the building.

Would that have affected my ability to hear a sound? I don't know. But I didn't really hear a distinct explosion sound as portrayed in the audio -- but the video (that which could be seen) was identical.
