Aliens and UFO Art....

There is an interesting corelation between art and UFO mythology. I have a big history of Science Fiction Art, and early on in the book they show a cover from "Astounding" or one of those early pulp rags. It shows a circular (actually spherical) UFO, complete with leering "little green men" swooping in to abduct terrified Earthlings... This was 1936 or so, just prior to the war and the boom in UFO sightings that followed.
These images were in newstands all over the country, at a time when folks got their news from same. The author makes a pretty good case that such images would have been in the public consciousness for some time.

Ah, Wio. Poor crazy, crazy Wio.

Any of you folks familiar with GLP? She (I'm pretty sure she's a woman) hangs out there, and manages to make those people look sane by comparison.

*shudders* That site looks creepily like Beckjord's. Sorry, no link (if you don't know, you're better for it).:boggled:

Moved to Richmond Indiana.. most important there was my love for a museum at EARLHAM COLLEGE where i would ride my bike to the dino paleontology exhibit...my favorite pastime was standing on my head.. I spent hours that way each day.. sometimes i would SPIN ontop of my head.. and always watched the kid shows upside down on the couch.. etc.
Well... that would explain a lot.

"EVIL ARMITAGE KNIGHTED BY SNAKE QUEEN IN SECRET CEREMONY"

Me and my friends still talk about this secret ceremony. Open bar, awesome buffet, hot snake chicks. Man, did we get wasted.

Hi all. New here to the JREF Forum...I'm a skeptic, athiest, and generally anti-woo.

I joined a few weeks ago, but haven't had a chance to respond to any threads....until I saw this one.

I've been sucked deeper and deeper into the babble presented in this link. It is hilarious! At first, I thought it was a joke or a parody, until I visited the website's forum. Do people really beleive this stuff? It has been endlessly entertaining, and it is taking all of my self control not to respond to the woo woo threads there.

Welcome to the forum! Unfortunately, while we are generally anti-woo, we refuse to accept the registration of anyone who denies seeing the "snake people" in the pics linked above. After all, belief in astrology is silly, but denying the Queen of England is a Snake Monarch with 6 fingers is downright heresy.

Its true.

Wio posted briefly at the Bad Astronomy forum years ago and even did an 'analysis' of a picture of the Bad Astronomer which showed, in her mind, that the BA was a reptilian! I wonder if he saved that picture? :D
