Yes. In the past week all the action movie actors I follow on social media all talk about how they check the live guns they're handed in front of the crew and the armorer before they use it.
Here's an example of a heads-up actor:

More to the point, anytime you have a firearm in your hand you are the end user, and you are 100% responsible for everything that happens with that firearm while it is in your possession. Prop gun or not. I doubt Baldwin will go to prison but he will be writing a large check to the family. I guess he's a standup guy in that department. I like Baldwin as an actor but he just killed a woman because he was careless. I would expect the same ire and consternation if I was in his shoes.
Yes, the Assistant Director is at fault too, and he is the weak link in this chain.
This is Scott Reeder, Prop Master, and his take on the shooting:

The safety protocols are on full display.
I'm not calling Baldwin an evil murderer, I'm pointing out that he was negligent. As someone who likes guns I can say the first rule everyone is told is the deadliest gun is the unloaded gun, and thus you treat every gun (real, rubber, BB, Airsoft, Nerf, and Squirt) as if it is loaded. I had this drilled into my head from the age of 4.
