Ahmadinejad's "monotheism and justice" remarks

Ahmadinejad has said it a couple of times already, in his "letter" to Bush,

All divine religions share and respect on word and that is monotheism or belief in a single God and no other in the world.
The holy Koran stresses this common word and calls on an followers of divine religions and says : [3.64] Say : O followers of the Book! Come to an equitable proposition between us and you that we shall not serve any but Allah and (that) we shall not associate aught. With Him and (that) some of us shall not take others for lords besides Allah, but if they turn back, then say : Bear witness that we are Muslims. (The Family of Imran).
Mr President,
According to divine verses, we have all been called upon to worship one God and follow the teachings of divine prophets. To worship a God which is above all powers in the world and can do all He pleases.

Service to and obedience of the Almighty is the credo of all divine messengers.
[...]
All prophets, speak of peace and tranquillity for man – based on monotheism, justice and respect for human dignity.

Do you not think that if all of us come to believe in and abide by these principles, that is, monotheism, worship of God, justice, respect for the dignity of man, belief in the Last Day, we can overcome the present problems of the world – that are the result of disobedience to the Almighty and the teachings of prophets – and improve our performance?
Do you not think that belief in these principles promotes and guarantees peace, friendship and justice?
Do you not think that the aforementioned written or unwritten principles are universally respected?
Will you not accept this invitation? That is, a genuine return to the teachings of prophets, to monotheism and justice, to preserve human dignity and obedience to the Almighty and His prophets?

and also a couple of months ago when Iran launched a satellite (it was supposed to "spread monotheism", whatever that means)

and now again at the UN, he said there should be a "return to monotheism and justice". Cleary, he's talking about Islam, since in Islam religion, politics and the law are one and the same, so he's talking about spreading Islam and the Sharia. "Monotheism" seems to be his soft politically correct word for Islamization, because Islam is in his view the logical final monotheist religion, rejecting everything else in the process: the non believers and the believers in multiple or different gods.

How else could one interpret these recurring words of his?

I think you are right but I also think on some level he believes this garbage and in some way respects christians because they do believe in ultimately the same god as him (and maybe sees them as the first targets for conversion in his caliphate wet dream). If the US had an open athiest (or possibly any other religion besides christian) he would have even less respect for the US than he does now. He would believe this person to be a heretic and use even more vile rhetoric than he has previously expressed. Forget about a jewish president. I think the middle east would have an aneurysm.

The only problem is that Yaweh/Allah, the god of the Jews, Christians, and Muslims, is, admittedly, by Himself in His Holy Works a complete bastard. Now roll in a posteriori observations about babies being raped to death, and anyone "worshipping" this...thing...are an ethically sorry lot indeed.
