AE911truth "debate challenge"

I'm serious about the "PhD in physics" comment. The previous challenge was for a licensed engineer or two, who also had academic credentials. We know MileHighMadness applied. Now, suspiciously they only want academics. And they only want academics in physics, very few of whom would have any sort of qualification in forensic structural analysis, which is the governing science here.

So it seems they keep narrowing the criteria in order to make sure they stay unopposed.

I'd take them on, but I have to watch some important paint dry. Anyway, I work in industry, so I probably don't qualify either.

The laws of physics were broken by the official story, and we need a new investigation, or

The laws were not broken; everything was explainable by the Nine Eleven Official Conspiracy Theory (NEOCT) put forth by the 9/11 Commission and NIST Reports.

This is the "Physics Challenge" debate.

The challenge will be won by the team that has convinced more than 50 percent of the audience to either agree or disagree with this statement: "The key questions raised by Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth have been adequately addressed by NIST, and a new investigation regarding the destruction of WTC 7 would continue to support NIST's conclusions that WTC 7 was destroyed by a fire-induced, gravity-only progressive collapse. Yes or no?"

This is the "Engineering challenge".

The sad part is they have no clue why these are not legitimate challenges.

Is there any wonder why they're ignored?

This is the "Physics Challenge" debate.

A false dichotomy, of course. The most rational answer is a sort of via media. No laws of physics were broken, but the manifestation of those laws is not as simplistic and straightforward as the Truthers suppose -- even those who have a well-endowed Hirsch index score.

Not everything is explainable by the government-issued reports, nor do those who accept the conventional narrative use only those sources in forming their opinions. However, it's unlikely that any of the loose ends upon which the conspiracy theories rely has the power to change the overall conclusions that WTC 1 & 2 were destroyed by airliners flown by radical religious fanatics, and that WTC 7 later succumbed to collateral damage.

Having to read it three times to determine what it really says, it's basically just begging the question of AE911T's legitimacy. Regardless of any debate that might ensue, the answer is a resounding no -- NIST hasn't addressed AE911T's claims. It's up to AE911T to demonstrate that the claims are worth consideration. So far they can't even do that.

The sad part is they have no clue why these are not legitimate challenges.

Oh, I think they know full well why they aren't legitimate challenges. All these profoundly-worded challenges hide premises that the question of legitimacy, such as to alienate anyone who might consider debating them on the putative merits. I believe they're purposely aimed at making sure no one qualifies for them, or would rationally consider engaging the opponents.

When stacking the deck, it's important not to let the onlookers suspect that you've stacked it.

I question your statement that the hijackers who flew the planes were radical religious fanatics. They certainly were crazy and from the ME / SA... but hard to know each of these guys's real motive... a chance for glory?

They were radical religious fanatics, and there is proof. They were idiots too.

The call to wage war against America was made because America has spear-headed the crusade against the Islamic nation, sending tens of thousands of its troops to the land of the two Holy Mosques over and above its meddling in its affairs and its politics, and its support of the oppressive, corrupt and tyrannical regime that is in control. These are the reasons behind the singling out of America as a target. - UBL
And the proof...

Strange, I just checked the blog where the challenge appears. After the link in the OP there is no more mention of the challenge.
I never got a reply to my questions about who would be on their team for the challenge. I'm not sure they have enough to field a team (Gage would not qualify).
