I was watching the Mythbusters Planes special today and it struck me that this episode must be disinfo.

Both Jamie and Adam (neither of whom had ever piloted a plane before) where able to land a Boeing aircraft (I think either a 777 or 787) simulator almost perfectly only being coached down by a pilot in Air Traffic Control. Their first run they did without help and both crashed, though Jamie did hit the runway, just rather hard, in their second runs, with only vocal help telling them what the instruments they needed to look at were and how to maintain their speed, altitude and heading, they both were able to successfully land the aircraft almost perfectly (Adam's landing was a tad bumpy but very survivable for both plane and passangers.)

How could this be possible?

We are told by Truthers that people who achieved a level of flight ability to gain a Commerical Pilot's licence, and who spend dozens of hours in jet flight simulators could not have hit targets that were far wider across than a runway. Since it is impossible for these people even with their training and knowledge of areoplanes, how could two bumbling Mythbusters who had never been in the cockpit of an aircraft manage such an impossible task. The only conclusion is that the Mythbusters program must have been deliberate disinformation to make us think that flying and landing a plane is really easy.

did they fly 100 knots above speedlimit a few foots of the ground? crossing a street hiting light poles?

I have to agree; They must be disinfo.

For instance, take a look at this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkP28DFnHqU

Adam and Jamie would have us believe that it takes a whole bunch of explosives to blow up some concrete, while we all know it takes relatively small, easily concealed charges to destroy acre-sized slabs of concrete because truthers told us so.

Something fishy about those Mythbusters, I'm tellin ya.

Well he didn't hit lightpoles cause there weren't any there, but Jamie was at about 300mph and no landing gear when he tried to land the first time, hence the crash right in the middle of the runway.

he was not 100 knots faster than speed limit?
oh okey......

I found this though. Adam had two attempts at the solo flight, and crashed twice.

Edit this wasn't shown in the episode.

So what you are saying is that since total novices who weren't actually trying to replicate the Hijacker's flying didn't perfectly replicate the hijacker's flying, but still managed to fly a jet easily with a touch of help telling them how to do it, that people with comercial licences couldn't have flown like the hijackers did?

Just for DC.

JUst because the Mythbusters haven't actually recreated Flight 77, doesn't mean others haven't.

PC Games.... LOL

Well here's an idea for you DC. Since you obvious don't believe it's possible, why not fork out the money, get a comercial pilot in a real simulator and get him to show you. Why not put your money where your mouth is?

ok ill help you a bit.

i did not claim its not possible.

and on Youtube you can find a reporter that flew into the Pentagon several times with a simulator, with Dutsh TV, Zembla or something like that.

search for it.

they also had no streets and lightpoles and was not above speedlimit, but interesting.

alot better than PC Games lol

Well if it's possible what is your issue? Do you think that there is some air cop that pulls over speeding planes? Or do you think that aluminium poles designed to snap off in the case of a collision should rip through a plane wing?

Funny thing, when I first watched this episode a similar thought came to me......Truthers will hate this.

It must suck when everyone you look up to and respect either thinks you are an idiot or unwittingly proves it so.

Just because they were able to land the (simulated) planes, doesn't mean they would be able to crash real ones.

What speed limit?

the one from Boeing, the speed limit that you may not ignore in no phase of the flight.
can a simulator even simulate what will happen is you fly 100 knots faster than this speedlimit?

Well that's true because most people who fly planes aren't insane, suicidal murderers.
