Well, here's a question for anyone who can answer it.
As I understand it, the FDR records on the order of 24 hours of data, simply wrapping around and overwriting the oldest frame.
There must have been some space between the most recent decodable frame and the oldest decodable frame. How much space was there? That should put an upper limit on the amount of data that could have been lost.
