A Small Miracle

It's the same in english too, the synonym 'sheet' is usually used instead of leaf but the owrd is still there.

Oh my Godziila!
"biophoton emissions"
This fully justifies every nasty thing James Randi has said about Gary Schwartz!

Well, Nostrildumass missed this one. It didn't even occur to him that they would blame it on the computer.

Most of the replies here are negative and leave no room for possibilities. Being skeptical to the point of close minded defeats the purpose don't you think?

It is not to be closed minded to refuse to believe claims that offer absolutely no evidence to support them. To be closed minded would be to see this evidence, recognize this evidence as valid and yet blind oneself to the logical conclusion this evidence points to.

I'd welcome any solid evidence of a relationship between human intention and plant growth, but nothing reliable has ever been produced.

"bioproton emissions" is nonsense talk that reeks of ignorance and scam.

Would you be in the market for a clean-burning, energy efficient, economic car that runs of orgone energy?

Wow - "light-sensitive cameras!" :jaw-dropp What will they think of next?

No expense spared on the super-high technology, then.

Kinda makes me think of corny SF technobabble:

"Energise the thermal heater!" (BTW, I've actually heard that one used)
"Remodulate the vehicular electromagnetic array!" (tune in the car radio)
"Polarise the visi-screen!" (Switch on the TV, wouldja?)

Two of my favourites are "Activate the collimators" and "Reverse polarity", for all you Return to the Forbidden Planet fans out there. The best part is that I get to use them completely seriously at work.

"Rerout secondary power to the sensory banks." = Open your eyes and see. :D

(You gotta love "Star Trek" just for the dialogues alone.)

If they've had two successful tests, why does the website still say:

"Click Here to Participate in the first experiment"?

Perhaps the OP was right after all. There were previous 'experiments' each called the "First."

It's marketing. "Get in on the ground level. First we'll make a leaf glow, then we'll move on to healing our planet." Each experiment will have a participation fee, or course.
The 'experiments' will be the "First" till they get a first that gives the desired results, or appears to to certain observers.

I have to concur whole-heartedly with #2 there, which I've heard a lot. My television's a bit fuzzy: hey, why don't I reverse line and neutral... oh, bugger, that's torn it!"

One thing I've always wondered about the Starship Enterprise and its analogues: why do they run everything on 150,000 volts? Every time they get a bump, there's a huge shower of sparks! I'm glad my laptop isn't like that.

Ok, so far we've had:
- The Intention Experiment pilot study from the London conference. Sunday 11 March, 2007. In it, "the results of the glowing intention were so strong that they could readily seen in the digital biophoton images; in addition, the increased biophoton effect was highly statistically significant".

- Then we had the first first Intention Experiment on 24 March, 2007, and their website was so overwhelmed that it crashed. Despite that, "many of you sent intention to our target geranium leaf, anyway. Dr. Gary Schwartz and his team at the University of Arizona are analyzing the results and we’ll see if we have had an effect – despite our technical problems." As of this posting, it has been a full week, and there's no update on the website about this analysis.

The next scheduled first experiment will be 14 April, 2007. But they may to a test run before then. It's not clear if the test run is just testing their upgraded server, or if they'll actually be sending intentions to leaves again.
