Didn't know anything better than that...

I was wondering if it's possible for a CTer that regained his marbles to loose them against after awhile?

In other words, a former crank becoming a crank again.

Trust me, as a reformed CT loon, it's a full time job not to run wild making connections, and then drawing unsubstantiated conclusions.

Like right now with the Trump/Russia stuff, I've definitely strained my new BS filter to its limit. I can see how easy it is to fall off the X-CT wagon back into Nincompoopery.

I also went from CT to reality, but I do not feel the call of the Dark Side any more. However, I do have a couple of friends who, when I explain why 9/11 conspiracies are nonsense, or GMOs are actually beneficial, they take it all on board. The moment I leave, though, they go right back to posting CT bilge on Facebook. Perhaps it's like heroin addiction: it makes them feel so good- all superior and cool and rebellious- that, unless they are under constant supervision, they cannot resist backsliding.

It's probably exacerbated by the fact that the whole Trump/Russia thing might have actually happened!

It will be interesting to see, in the next few years, how this all plays out. Will it turn out to be a real conspiracy that the Alex Jones types all missed (although they'll eventually claim they knew all along), or will it turn into just another CT (which AJ types might then start believing in)?

I wouldn't put aside that this could be real, especially with that MI6 Agent that went into hiding...

Just like with as with Popular Youtubers, your friends probably love the attention that they're getting from the internet even though they probably know it bull.

Seeing your posts (especially in the 9/11 forum), I didn't expect you to be a former CTer. What did you believe in?

My point with the Russia/Trump thing is that, unlike in my CT days, I'm waiting for more evidence, and carefully checking the sources before I make up my mind.

I follow the white-hat hacker, The Jester, on Twitter, and he's been ahead of the curve on this subject.

The key is to not stick my foot in my mouth before more facts are in, but it doesn't look like it's going away.
