Our brains are what make us conscious because you are no longer conscious without it. I would say you and all the others who believe in the more paranormal stuff will have to prove otherwise (and win a million bucks). Science has already shown that when we die there is no proof that any consciousness remains.
I don't know what you mean by "These phenomena are subsumed into the aforementioned group of behaviors."
EEG and such are not phenomena, and brain activity is not behavior.
While I have to admit I would agree with your statement if pushed, I'm not sure it necessarily follows 100% from the logic you present.
While lack of brain does correlate with lack of consciousness, that wouldn't necessarily means that consciousness lives in the brain and is created by the brain.
Consider a television which needs electricity to operate; when the item is plugged in it works and is 'conscious' when its unplugged the tv is 'not conscious' - but it is not the plug that creates electricity. Similarly when you unplug the TV, the electricity doesn't get destroyed.
I suppose you could therefore posit that consciousness is something that exists outside the brain and that the brain is merely the connection or receiver that connects us to it. So, no brain = no consciousness for the individual but the consciousness still exists externally ready for someone else to tap into.
Disclaimer: I don't think I believe that, and there is no evidence for it as far as I know. Theoretically though I guess you could argue it as a possibility
