They are called silencer in film only afaik, the real name is supressor.
So silencers are the things that make the gun go from "POW POW" to "pew pew", right? Sorry, I'm not a gun person.
Exactly what kinds of shooting are acceptable to you?
I'd agree with you if I could be assured it would be unbiased. How do you propose ensuring that?

An excellent guide for guns; legal crap anyway. They are called silencer in film only afaik, the real name is supressor.
(24) The terms “firearm silencer” and “firearm muffler” mean any device for silencing, muffling, or diminishing the report of a portable firearm,
Silly question. Either a shooting range, or legal hunting, or remote target location, obviously.
I have two ranges on my 4.4 acres in N GA. Do they pass muster?
As an aside, here's the magazine rack at my local grocery, taken not too long ago:

If you look carefully, you'll find a whole magazine dedicated to suppressors.
"Backyard Poultry"? Good heavens, I've never seen that sold without an opaque plastic bag over it.

Not saying you shouldn't continue to use your guns but if they are that unpleasant for you to use perhaps a different hobby? Why not try archery with a crossbow?I don't like how loud it is with ear protection. I want both.

So muffler and silencer are the legal terms. Suppressor as a euphemism for silencers was coined by those who felt (rightly) that it better described what they did and by those who felt the word silencer was given a bad rap by Hollywood, gun owners and other dorks.
The first video talked about how fun it was to shoot suppressed. It that sufficient reason to shoot suppressed?Suppressed Henry Lever Action.
I said euphemism meaning that people were using the word suppressor because it sounded less harsh than the word silencer. The word moderator is also used by some people who want to sound even more benign. Based on what I've seen on this forum and other places, the word silencer can be a dirty one indeed. The fact that a word isn't a legal term doesn't mean it's a euphemism.
