911 Audio Debates Thread!

It's a waste of time for pseudo-skeptics, that's for sure.

But you're right, it's not technically a debate. I posted it answering a derail and decided that it was close enough to the topic to let it stand, while i edited out the rest of my comment after the derail was removed.

Hey.

Sorry to anyone trying to link to my 911Debates site. The files are unavailable ATM.

Family commitments and a serious illness have prevented me from spending much time on my little hobby.

I hope to start it back up soon. I'll be changing my web server, it'll take a while but I hope to sort it out within a few weeks.

Get back to you on it soon.

Great work Walter BTW keep it up mate.

This is hardly a "debate."

I love WFMU, a free-form listener supported radio station in New Jersey (check out the tons of free music and other goodies on their blog), but Dave Emory is not a skeptic and he doesn't debate Hopsicker.

Here's a description of Emory's show on WFMU from Wikipedia.

I'm listening to the program right now and Hopsicker is going on and on about his conspiracy theories about the school in Venice, Florida, where some of the 9/11 hijackers took fight training and nary a discouraging word is voiced by Emory. There are lots of digressions (including something or other about General Chiang Kai-shek and CIA drug smuggling) but I don't think I'll going to stick around to hear the "dots" get connected.

This audio is a complete waste of time for skeptics.

I agree, this sounded more like a pseudo-intellectual circle-jerk if anything.

Here is another debate back in 2008 between Michael McConnell and Steve Alten.
http://visibility911.com/media/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/alten-mcconnell.mp3

I posted debates between McConnell and Cincinnati 9/11 Truth that I found on Walter's blog and agree with him that McConnell does a real good job taking on three 9/11 Truthers. I'll probably make an updated post with my favorite debates and review them so I'll talk about this mp3 when I do that I guess.

ETA: Only for the first half an hour is there the McConnell v. Alten 911 debate.

Pseudo-intellectual? Big word for someone who is in this just for the LULZ.

edit: Emory is at the moment conducting an interview series with Russ Baker, author of "Family of Secrets". Part two aired last tuesday, part three of an unspecified number will follow next week. I think i'll start a thread about it in general CT after they are finished.

I'm not sure why being in something for the LULZ requires you to not use big words...I think I remember the post I made that you are referring to. But if you look at my OP for this thread you can see that I'm in this for a lot of other things besides avenging the late Lulz:

.

But I will concede that listening to that mp3 has made me look into some of the claims mentioned so ultimately this would be considered legit...though if it gets added to 911debates.com it should be qualified with a message saying that the content is only partially considering a 911 CT claim.

I've been tossing the idea of starting a thread in the CT section that has other CT debates that I have found. I'd like to have a bunch of links to start out with so maybe you could post it there, eh?

That was fun. Why does every conspiracy theorist start off by saying "Now I'm not a conspiracy theorist" It's so dishonest. He says he wants to stick to "facts" but doesn't take long before he jumps down the rabbit hole.

I haven't been in this forum in awhile so I am bumping my old old old thread from beyond the grave to see if I missed anything.

I'm gonna try and find all the links to those debates Richard Cage had with that pastor last year and post them here but PLEASE if there are anymore post them here!

All right kids, sorry I keep bumping my really old threads but screw it:

A lot more debates have occurred since I last updated and a lot of the links on the original post have died. I hope to eventually edit and update that original post with ALL of the debates (correctly linked this time:blush:).

I'll post a couple more in a future post.

Gage vs. Mohr
Here
This is probably one of my favorites because my complaints debate-wise are that the questioned asked of Richard Gage seemed to be softball questions made by other Truthers to allow Gage to talk about some of his regular talking points and that Mohr is just too damn nice.

Gage and Harriet vs. Thomas and Kim Johnson
Link to a YouTube Playlist. I looked through the old thread on this and unfortunately the commercial free version that Sam.I.Am made was uploaded to MegaUpload so I can't get it. I'll pm him about it though.

I liked that the host was critical but the callers were crazy! Thomas and Johnson do a solid job.

Gage, Ryan, Harrit and others vs. Thomas, Kay, Mueller and others
Hour 1
Hour 2
Hour 3
I'm still listening to this one, the one host lady keeps on interrupting and saying "stay on topic!" and I thought that was just her showing her bias but she later did it to Gage! I think she's just an idiot because she told Gage to stay on topic when he was making an open argument, he was just introducing the topic! That's what you do in an introduction...also Gage sounds sick, poor guy.
I thought Kay did a great job but the other guy he was with was also kind of all over the place, he reminded me of Michael Shermer against Kevin Ryan: he's a skeptic and looks at 911 too generally and Truthers get super tedious so you gotta be really familiar with the claims.

I think I have a few more including the one with Brainster and Dylan Avery where I called in! But I gotta study so laters.

Thanks for rekindling my interest Fourtoe! I don't know whether to thank or curse you :=]

I am thinking of uploading a few of the more memorable 9/11 debates I've listened to a YouTube channel I set up a while ago. This little project won't be on the scale of my last effort but will concentrate on the more entertaining exchanges between Fetzer, Wood, Jones, Baker, Hutch et al.....

I'm on the hunt for a good free or cheap mp3 editor any suggestions?

I have the ability to post longer than 15 minute videos if you don't on that account. Is that account specific to only 911 though?

I had to supply a mobile phone number to verify the account to YouTube and I believe I can now upload extended videos.

The account will be mainly 9/11 related but not strictly so.

HERE is the channel if you want a look, obviously it's a WIP but I'm going to try and add some content over the next few weeks.

Sounds good. Here's a playlist of my debate with a crazy Truther I had a couple of years ago.

Thanks for posting these. There was one I really liked a while back...when Craig from CIT called into Howard Stern and made it on the "After Show" trying to defend his theories. I remember distinctly Craig accusing a caller who disagreed with him of using an "argument from increduly" [sic]. It was a rather humorous exchange if anyone's able to locate it. I don't recall the specific date.

ETA: May 19, 2008. Unfortunately the Youtube video is gone. I'll have to look back and see if I have an MP3 copy.

I remember seeing Stern's name somewhere on YouTube when I searched for 911 debates in the past. I'll check it out.

Like I mentioned earlier, Craig sounds like he is speaking with clenched teeth--he sounds so angry. I'll look into it.

I did some investigoogling and all the links that link to a video that Ranke uploaded on YouTube indicate that the video has been removed. Maybe I should ask him for it?

I emailed Craig Ranke (who was really cool to respond to me so quickly) who said that he didn't think that the Stern Show thing was a debate. He instead linked me to a debate he had with Anthony Summers:

I'm not sure if this is just a portion of the show because the archived mp3 is an hour long. But I guess you'll find out if you listen! I'm about to now.
