I think this has come up before.
Occupy Phoenix Joined by AE911Truth Action Group
In Vancouver, one of my favorite Truther nuts was on Youtube expressing his solidarity

This may have something to do with the decision that led to a 9/11 Truther being blocked from speaking. From the FB of someone who was there.
A man's 9/11 speech was blocked today at Occupy Vancouver. There was no consensus to let him finish. "What the hell does that **** have to do with the 99% dude?" I don't have the symbol for it on my keyboard, but the term is "blocked".

Anymore information on this?

AE911's facebook page has a link to a petition poll - they give several options of what should be included in their "demands" (for lack of a better term)

"Reopen world's most thorough investigation for the benefit of a handful of retarded truthers" is one of the options.

Well its a good opportunity. If 5 or 6 show up at the rally's and hold up their signs they can make it appear a lot more people actually believe their nonsense.

It is a fact of life for the truth movement that they can't draw a crowd of more 15 or 20 people at their "street actions" even in major cities like L.A. or Atlanta. (The exception is lower Manhattan on the anniversaries of 9/11 and even on their best years they've never had more that a few hundred people at Ground Zero, probably 300 tops.)

So when a public or political event draws a big crowd truthers are there to take advantage of it. Some examples:

Gay Pride Parades

From the You Tube description of the above video:

I started my afternoon heading out the door for some coffee at the local Tim Hortons and the first thing I noticed was for a Saturday the streets were filling up with a lot of people (more so than normal).

I asked a couple cops what was up and they said there was a gay pride parade coming down Jasper ave @ 2pm...I got thinking about a stack of 9/11 public newsletters I had left over from our 11th day actions, so I ran home, grabbed my activist bag, 9/11 truth sign, camera and a bottle of water...I was set not only to enjoy my first ever gay pride parade but another opportunity to inform Edmontonians about the need for a 9/11 criminal investigation. I became the media! The parade was a blast, the people were awesome ... I ended up giving away the last batch of 9/11 public newsletters...

Martin Luther King Day Parades

And my favorite.

Canadian 9-11 Truthers, who have a history of horning in on anti-war rallies in Toronto, are told in no uncertain terms they are not wanted. The conversation starts to get really interesting at about the 3:45 mark (NSFW language).

From the blog post on the 9/11 Kooks In Toronto linked above.

The 9/11 people are like the unwanted relatives at every event. No one wants to go near them.

I'm not sure there is an OWS movement to infiltrate. They're supposedly now in my town as well, camping out at one corner of the town's market square. Walking past them on my way home from work, I noticed that the movement consisted of a total of six people, whose message was apparently something along the lines of "Give us direct democracy and love, or we won't shower today".

One of the oddities of the OWS crowd is that they demand consensus. This of course means that nothing gets done. I have watched the local protestors for several days now, and about the only thing they all agree on is what a fabulous group they are, and how they need more people to make it even more fab.

The good news is that the requirement for consensus makes it impossible for anybody to hijack the group for their own cause (like the Truthers). Although Phoenix allowed the Truthers to speak, I have seen OWS chatrooms ban them, and ban the Zeitgeist pushers as well.

I noticed the same thing. One of my 25-year-old cube neighbors is all about the Occupiers, but when I ask him what they want or what they're even there for, he doesn't want to speak for the group. Even in a small, friendly conversation.

If there's one common trait I've noticed in the Occupy crowd, it's a disdain for leadership in general. They don't demand more government and less private enterprise, or vice versa. They seem to blame all leadership, public and private, for the mess we're in. And they seen to have an ethic of not letting any one person hold too much influence and making sure everyone is heard. The problem, as you said, is that nothing gets done.

In fact, I think we might be seeing the first definable characteristic of the generation that's becoming adults now. And I think it's a very promising starting point.

The mindset that it doesn't matter if nothing gets done, as long as everyone gets to feel important? Now that you say it, yeah, I think there's truth to that.

I find it rather pathetic, myself. I can be opinionated, but I don't think of myself as important in the grand scheme of things. That, among other things, is why I don't have a blog or a Facebook account.

Great, their message is going to get even more incoherent.

Is that even possible? What I see is a bunch of people upset and angry because they made some very poor decisions about getting themselves into debt and the people that loaned them the money knew or should have known that they were going to have difficulty paying it back so now they want to get out of the debt that they voluntarily got themselves into. They can't say that of course because then they won't get any attention or (more importantly) any support so they meander and dance around a solid platform of what they actually want which is, at the end of the day, free money in the form of debt forgiveness.

Sorry snowflake, you decided to go into debt for that piece of paper saying that you are an expert in art history (or whatever) but it's not mine nor my neighbors problem or fault that you can't actually do anything with it to at least make back what you paid for it. You made a bad decision and now you have to deal with it. It's called being an adult and taking responsibility for your own actions.

No, "fabulous" is for "Occupy Canal Street".

The movement is all of 5 weeks old, and already has a presence in over 1600 US cities. Perhaps in another 5 weeks, you'll have a lot more than 6 members in your town.

OWS as a sharply purposed activist group may indeed achieve nothing, for exactly the reason you stated. However, it has already achieved success in changing the national discourse. More importantly (I don't consider Jesse La Greca injecting a few populist memes into a Sunday morning talk show to be all that significant...), OWS may function as both 1) an 'operating system', of sorts, that allows more partisan activist groups to be more effective (by providing a fertile recruitment ground) and 2) facilitating transpartisan alliances, which are sorely lacking.

Doubtless, transpartisan alliances are lacking partly due to nasty, insulting, apparently more fanatical members of both the left and the right, demonizing their ideological opponents. Apparently, it doesn't occur to these geniuses that you can be somebody's friend on one set of issues, their enemy on another set of issues, but need to cooperate to achieve goals that you can hold in common, to progress. Thus, maintaining a minimum level of civility is in everybody's interest.

I have speculated that some of these haters are paid for spewing their endless, unbalanced smears, as that serves plutocratic purposes rather well. See Call for investigation of Left HATEKeepers (and Right HATEKeepers, too)

OWS is not much of a movement if it allows delusions from 911 truth to become part of the platform, or give a platform for 911 truth to spread lies. Can't OWS expose 911 truth as anti-intellectual spreaders of fantasy conspiracy theories, a failed movement based on ignorance and bias? OWS has the right to act stupid and let 911 truth spew lies, they agree with me on that. Allowing idiots from 911 truth to talk at OWS events makes OWS look like a bunch of nuts who can't set goals or weed out delusions. They need to stop 911 truth, the movement of lies and fraud. If OWS can't figure out 911 truth is a movement of lies, they deserve to fail.

This comment actually makes me sad.

Yeah, these kids may do nothing. But there are a lot worse choices than nothing. Would you prefer they did "something" to increase the influence of David Ray Griffin, or Richard Gage, or Sylvia Browne, or Kevin Trudeau, or any of the other phony experts we skeptics spend so much time combating?

The younger people who make up these rallies seem to be highly skeptical of anyone who would try to lead them. If this is true, and it really is a key trait of the current crop of 20-somethings, we ought to be ecstatic about that.

Meanwhile, the 9-11 Truth movement is all of 525 weeks old, and has a presence in 0 US cities. Perhaps in another 5 years, I'll have a truther in my town.

I suppose you mean visible 911 truthers, out in the street.

The odds of you not having a 911 Truther who is not protesting in the street, is probably around the odds of you not having an American citizen who believes that the "Oswald did it, alone" theory of the JFK assassination is a ridiculous tale told for the benefit of idiots and the gullible.

I.e., close to 0.
