you do understand that explosives initiate collapse
they dont "force it down"
after they sever critical supports, gravity does the rest

not all of the explosions you see in a CD are being used to initiate collapse rather to help drop debris in a certain direction to minimize or eliminate damage to other structures nearby
hence "controlled"

as for 7
you understand that the entire buildings weight above the 7th floor (in other words - supporting 40 floors) was supported by 3 main trusses
1 on the northeast and 2 on the west
when the penthouse falls that is the reult of the NE truss failure (taking out other columns)
the other two trusses held the redistributed and shifting weight for 8 seconds and then they failed
since now nothing was holding up the building's top 40 stories
what was gonna prevent it from doing exactly what it did?

So then the side with no support fell immediately and 8 seconds later the rest of the building followed ? That's not how it looked to me.

the loads transferred and the kink developed before global collapse as the exterior columns on the north east side failed
it was progressive


also in this video at 3:02 it shows the entire sequence unedited

you can notice the other penthouse wobbles then falls then the building collapsed
so it actually looks like the other trusses failed and the rest of the building can only take it for about 1/2 a second

nutshell:
it still had the 2 trusses plus the exterior columns that held for 5 or 6 seconds, then the exterior columns started to buckle (KINK) increasing the load to the 2 remaining trusses causing them to fail followed by complete and almost (but not quite) instant failure of everything that was left holding the building up

Jeez....40,000 tons of structural steel just hanging on a thread then BANG. NIST were right to designate this as the first event of it's kind in the history of the planet.

yup sounds about right
18 seconds for a progressive collapse that you can witness by how the building falls apart
that sequence starts as the east penthouse begins to fall into the building

and the key word is "First" in that nist "quote"
that would imply that it would be foolish to think it cant ever happen again
thats the point of the NIST study
to come up with ways of minimizing this in future construction by understanding how it happened

also.. just like the FIRST time anyone crashed two fully fueled jets into a building at cruising speeds on purpose
the FIRST time two buildings 110 stories each fell down across the street
there was a lot of FIRSTs that day
that don't mean it wont happen again

Only when discussing this architecture. In this forums however were often presented examples of "interesting" collapses...
 
Pre-installed cables? Stretching up into the sky before the antenna was even there? What in crap's name were they attached to, bill smith; clouds?

Last time I checked, cables are tension members, not compression. And since when does history dictate whether or not something can happen in architecture... or better yet... anything?
 
We had a good discussion yesterday both here and on the Heiwa Challenge thread, We established that the top three floors of WTC1 incorporated the 'hat truss' which was a massive latticework of steel stretching over the whole three floors and tying the core columns to the outer walls as well as supporting the gigantic 30-storey antenna.

So we have established that the antenna was very very securely attached and standing on an immensely strong base .

So how do we explain that the antenna started to collapse into the building before any other movement of the structure became visible. Before the onset of ccollapse in other words ?

It would be nice if you gave a clear synopsis of the answer . I don't think the importance of this can be underestimated. There is video evidence and the other facts are pretty nuch as I laid out above unless you have reason to contradict them.

The importance of this has been overestimated by the not so good tag team of Bill and Heiwa.

We know what you do with video and photographic evidence Bill. Remember. Your shown a photograph with cables and an antenna in it. You aknowledge and discuss those cables and antenna. Yet the next day you post the same photograph but without the cables showing and imply that you havnt seen the cables.
You wont get any regurgitated explanation from me. No links, no sources, no evidence. I wish others would do the same and ignore you and your weak attempts at peddling the BS that the TM wallow in.

I cant and wouldnt speak for Ryan but I'm still waiting for you to explain it. You have seen the videos, done the research, bought into the conspiracy.............now explain it and stop blowing hot air photograph fraudster.
