So be it. I am not really here to persuade. I present the things I know or have observed and if people are persuaded I am content. If not then not.

.

Do you yell "fire" in a crowded theatre with as little thought for the repercussions of your "comments"?

In bills case. He yells "WATER!" in a crowded theater and expects the crowd to panic. Only to be doused with 60 ounces of soft drink by the aggravated patron seated behind him.

Has anyone ever personally met or know a truther.....?

I personally have never met nor do i know a truther. In fact i am beginning to think their very existance is nothing more than a conspiracy theory. :covereyes

Or at the very least not nearly as many people agree with them that they say they do.

There are a lot extreme left-wing young ones at my college who are politically active truthers. It took me a little while to realize this. Everything was going along fine at the peace rally, drinking and watching the obama/mccain debates, then whamo! Got hit in the face by half a room full of truthers trying to "educate" me.

I am glad i have none of that at my University. I go to Texas A&M and we are one of the most conservative universities in the country.

A bunch, and every single one I have met so far has been either a young dumb punk kid that is just following like a drone, or a terribly mentally under developed or ill person.

Some of them i have met, especially amongst the older ones, are clearly suffering from some serious mental issues of which 9/11 is just the tip of an iceberg.

I have encountered only two people who have even remotely expressed an interest in conspiracy theories. One has never spoken of it again (over 2 years!), and the other joined a debunking group on Facebook a few months later.

It's true what folks here say: turn off the Internet, and 9/11 Truth goes *poof*.

Even with the internet, it’s pretty much *poof*. The last Truth messageboard I joined had exactly two members, including me.

I know one person IRL who is on 'the list' over at AE 9/11 Truth, but his comment there is fairly benign, he's never mentioned any doubts to me personally, at all, and, while I considered asking him about it at one point, I think it's better to attribute it to BDS and forget about it.

When I was in Iraq, I did overhear a couple of Blackwater guards discussing 9/11 being an inside job - molten steel and all that. They at least thought it was possible.

The Truncheon is juicy truther infighting in blog form. Kevin Barrett and Nico Haupt get particular attention, though unfortunately it's not been updated for a while. Read it here.

What what what? Young people that are truthers? Don't say it to loud or Jihad Jane or RedIbis will come in here and tell you that you must have imagined it.

I should give Kelly some grief about how perhaps the folks at her university aren't the brightest bunch, but I am trying to be nicer now that my sister (alas!) is a graduate.

Rock Chalk,

Minadin

I see them every once in awhile on late night tv when Leno has "battle of the J-walk all stars". You cannot possibly believe people can be that stupid. But there they are. In all their uninformed glory. Unashamed.

I think of George Carlin's bit... think of how stupid the average person is, then realize that half of them are stupider than that.

But only the cream of the stupid crop can be twoofers.

Actually, Bottom of the stupid Barrel would be a better analogy...lol

Saw some claim the other day that half the US population is below average intelligence....

.....BUT for Australians half were above average intelligence.

Cannot remember the link or citation. :o
